Monthly Newsletter of Eureka United Methodist Church
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ!
Nancy and I greet you with thanksgiving for all
that God has already done in you! We are grateful
for the love and kindness we have received from you
all.
Leaving Toulon, where we served for 20 years,
has been difficult; yet your love has confirmed that
God has indeed led us to Eureka!
We are excited to partner in ministry with you as
we share the wonderful good news of the Gospel of
our Lord Jesus Christ, praying that hundreds, dare I
say thousands, of folks in our community will come
to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior as born again
children of Almighty God.
God has blessed us with a wonderful family.
Ellen, is married to Randy Yedinak and they are the
parents of: Olivia-7, Isaac-5, and Henry-3. They live
in Pontiac and are active in Pontiac 1st UMC. Mary,
is married to Jon Stapel and they are parents of Anna-
13mos. They live in Peoria and are active in Peoria
1st UMC.
Benjamin, is married to Jennifer and they are the
parents of Elden-2, and Audrey-3mos. They live in
Saint Paul, MN and are active in Centennial UMC.
Free Church.
THE CROSS ROAD
2
Matthew, is married to Virginia (Ginny), and they are the parents of Rus-
sell-7mos. They live in Sycamore and are active in DeKalb-Sycamore
Evangelical Free Church.
I beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have
been called, with all lowliness and meekness and patience, forbearing
one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were
called to the one hope that belongs to your call, one Lord, one faith,
one baptism, one God and Father of us all, who is above all and
through all and in all. But grace was given to each of us according to
the measure of Christ’s gift… his gifts were that some should be apos-
tles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to
equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of
Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge
of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of
the fulness of Christ; so that we may no longer be children, tossed to
and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the cunning
of men, by their craftiness in deceitful wiles. Rather, speaking the
truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head,
into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by
every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working
properly, makes bodily growth and upbuilds itself in love. (Ephesians
4:1-16 excerpts)
The above scripture is our prayer for you all! Hold true the mission of
making disciples of Jesus Christ. Reach the least, lost, and last with the
Salvation offered through Jesus Christ.
Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love undying.
In Him, Rev. Paul and Nancy Wier (and family)!

Dear Lord
Clear my mind as I kneel before you.
Help me to see you in all that I do.
Help me to know where you’re leading me today.
Help me to follow each step of the way.
I pray not for riches nor worldly fame.
I just ask for strength to lift up your name.
If a friend has a need or a burden to bear,
Help me to be there to show that I care.
Help me to be all you want me to be.
Let others see Jesus living in me.
Then
When day has ended and sleep takes control
Dear lord,
Help me to say, “It is well with my soul.”

“The power of choice is real.
We can . . .
Choose to love--rather than hate.
Choose to smile--rather than frown.
Choose to build--rather than destroy.
Choose to persevere--rather than quit.
Choose to praise--rather than gossip.
Choose to heal--rather than wound.
Choose to give--rather than grasp.
Choose to act--rather than delay.

manded you.
And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the Age.”
