Pastor’s Paragraphs

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Can you believe that it’s August already? The

summer is almost over! Think about it – VBS and our

World Changers mission trip are behind us and school

is soon to start back. Directly in front of us are the SE

Asia Vision Trip, Homecoming, and our Annual Fall

Festival! As soon as we get through all of that the

holidays will be here again, and then it will be another

New Year! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun

– or when you’ve got a lot going on! Either way, time

waits for no one!

I say all of that to say this – I know how busy you

can get, because I know how busy I can get. It seems

like time is the one thing that we never quite have

enough of. But let me encourage you – in the midst of

all the activities, travels, and various comings-and-

goings – to make sure that you MAKE THE TIME to

spend with Jesus. It’s the most important thing you

can do every day! (And, see – that’s the thing about

Jesus. He’s never pushy. He won’t make you spend

time with Him, because He wants you to want to spend

time with Him!)

One of my favorite verses speaks to this reality.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I

will be exalted in the nations, I will be exalted in the

earth.” When you read the entire psalm, you see all

sorts of things going on – mountains falling, nations

rising, wars, etc. – but God silences them all and calls

us to focus on Him and His glory.

As we prepare to go into a busy time of the year, I

want to encourage you to take some time – “be still” –

and focus on the one who made you, sustains you,

saved you and loves you. Trust me when I tell you that

it will be well worth your time.

Serving Jesus,

Brother Kevin
