SCHOOL INFORMATION
SHAKESPEARIENCE EVENING PERFORMANCE: In an effort to raise money for new speakers in the activity cen-
ter, the eighth grade class will put on an evening performance of “Shakespearience Bandstand” tomorrow- Friday, April
28th at 6:30pm. Admission is $5; SJS students are free!
PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY: Alexandra and Oliva F. recently served as “Principal for a Day”.
They issued a proclamation to the student body that on Tuesday, May 2nd students may wear a
“favorite team” t-shirt with blue jeans or uniform bottoms!
SPRING BAND & CHOIR CONCERT: Please make plans to attend the spring concert
Tuesday, May 10th at 7:00pm in the activity center. Our school choir will kick things off fol-
lowed by the beginning, advanced, and jazz ensemble bands. ALL students, parents, friends
and family are welcome to come watch the hard that these students have put into their perfor-
mances!
MOTHER SETON: Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Joanne Grantham on being named
the 2017 Mother Seton recipient for St. Jude School!
HAITI MISSION LENTEN PROJECT: Thanks to everyone who donated to our Haiti Mis-
sion Lenten project. We collected $1,625.76. Your generosity is much appreciated!
ACT ASPIRE: Our students will be undergoing the spring ACT ASPIRE spring assessment in two weeks. Please note
the following schedule below and try to avoid tardies and absences in particular on dates your child will be tested. All
grade levels will take four tests. Two tests are scheduled for before lunch and two tests are scheduled for after lunch.
Mon. May 8th - 5th grade & 7th grade
Tues. May 9th - 3rd grade & 6th grade
Wed. May 10th - 4th grade & 8th grade

COMMUNITY COFFEE CASH FOR SCHOOLS: Thanks to the ongoing
support of our parents and community stakeholders, St. Jude School was presented a
check in the amount of $1,130.40 from Community Coffee in the Cash for Schools
program! Each school that raises over $1,000 receives a campus visit for this
special presentation. SJS parents and Community Coffee employees Kennon
Breaux, George Hart, Wayne Losavio and Allyson Vogt were ambassadors for the
announcement. We would also like to especially thank Mrs. Ashley Gravois as
chair of the H&S Community Campaign Committee in collecting and counting these
and other labels this year. Please keep up the great work and continue saving your
coffee labels and box tops all summer!
ATHLETIC INFORMATION
2016-17 BANQUET: Our Athletic Banquet was held this past Tuesday, April
25th. It was a special night honoring all our 6th, 7th and 8th grade athletes for all
their accomplishments this past year. Thank you to the Paul Talbot and the Men's
Club for cooking and preparing over 300 hamburger dinners for our athletes, par-
ents, and coaches. Receiving the "Cougar Award" this year for outstanding
character, leadership and Athletic performance were Anna Michael I. and Jacob
B. Congratulations to all of our participants. Special thank you to Lisa LeMaire and
Kelly Elliott for all their hard work in preparing for this night, and also to our
faculty members who assisting with serving our guests.
UNIFORM TURN-IN: Our track and volleyball teams should send all of their uniforms to Mrs. Moses on Monday,
May 1st. Uniforms should be clean and placed in a ziplock bag labeled with the student name. Thank you!
HOME & SCHOOL INFORMATION
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK: Hats off to our wonderful Teachers and Staff! TAW is May 1-5. Thank you to
everyone who has signed up to bring items. Please remember to bring your items to the lounge on your designated day

CLASS PICTURES: A HUGE thank you goes out to Lindsey Stelly for taking our class pictures this year! Also, thank
you to Karalyn Cass and Bonnie Schwing for volunteering to help get our students picture ready. Pictures will be dis-

USED UNIFORM SALE: The summer sale will be held July 23rd from 10:45 am-1 pm in the school cafeteria. There
will be lots of great bargains available on uniforms for the 2017-18 school year. Uniforms to donate for the sale may be
dropped off at the school office during regular school hours, or you may contact Ginny Anderson at ginny-

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: School supplies for the 2017-18 school year will be sold again through School Tool Box. The
