“Imagine the Possibilities”
Mark your calendars for the annual summer reading program June 15-August 3!
The theme for children is “Be Creative @ Your Library”. We are planning some terrific
events incorporating art, dance, music and other creative themes. The programs are
pre-paid with your tax dollars, so take advantage of these wonderful activities. In
addition to the entertaining events, we also offer a reading log to motivate young
readers during their summer vacation. Participants who complete the reading log
receive prizes and may attend the final summer reading program party on August 8.
Babies through fifth graders are invited to join this fabulous, fun, fantastic program!
“Express Yourself” is the theme for Teens this summer. The librarians and
Teen Advisory Board are busy planning events that reflect the creative theme. Art,
dance, music, cooking and film events will offer something for everyone going into
grades 6-12. The Teen reading log includes several aspects of the library in addition to
reading. Prizes and a fun final party on August 7 are rewards for completing the log.
Each completed participant will be entered into a random drawing for a laptop
computer sponsored by Telcom Credit Union.
Join the Adult Summer Reading Program for another fun
summer of Book Bingo! The purpose is to have fun, try something
different, and join the kids in summer reading. You don’t have to be
an avid reader to enjoy this program! Book Bingo is for everyone who
enjoys the library or wants to learn more about library services.
Everyone will receive a prize for participating.
Registration for all programs will be available on our
website, www.ssldl.info, beginning June 15 or you may stop by the
library to sign up. Reading logs will also be available at that time
online and at the library. We had over 1500 participants last year,
and are looking forward to another summer full of fun events,
prizes, and happy library users!
Thank you Telcom Credit
Union for co-sponsoring the
summer reading program!
