Delicate poetry in porcelain
True beauty moves. It bathes everything around it in a new light. Grace’s restrained
refinement brings inspiring elegance to gastronomic presentation. Flowing lines and surfaces,
embodied in delicate porcelain. The appealing interplay of classic basic shapes and exciting
highlights opens up exciting ways of staging your presentation, suffused with delicate
poetry.
Grace seduces with delicate innuendo. The characteristic look of the collection is created
by means of a flowing change from striking to fading lines. The rim drops where the lines
become visible and rise where they fade, thus creating a fluid boundary between coup plate
and rim plate – an ambiguity that invites you to leave the beaten track and try out new
culinary uses. The discriminating guest will appreciate it. He savours Grace’s perfectly formed
nobility that underlines the high standards of superior establishments.
SCENARIOGN

SCENARIOGN enlivens the buffet landscape
Systematic beauty: SCENARIOGN, which features a modular system, now offers you
completely new scenarios for presenting food. The newly interpreted Gastronorm dishes,
in combination with the mobile elements, allow you to create your very own personalised
buffet landscape. The simple plug-in system for the food containers creates an innovative
buffet architecture, offering different heights and perspectives which will encourage your
guests to reach out for snacks. You can combine these structural elements with the fancy
little bowls, for example. Whether it is used in a restaurant or hotel, at a special event
or every day in a canteen, SCENARIOGN, the integrated buffet concept from Schönwald,
brings a great deal of animation and entertainment to any buffet. And it combines
suitability for everyday use with great emotive appeal.

To wish diners a warm welcome and create a relaxed atmosphere of well-being for them –
it is precisely this which sums up the true essence of hospitality. With WellCome, the art of
hospitality takes on a new, natural form.
With their asymmetrical design and unconventional shapes, the latest creations defy all geo -
metrical expectations. Indeed, they allow wide-ranging associations with all that is natural and
established. With the new WellCome collection, the “regular irregularity” of nature is successfully
interpreted in porcelain.
Delicate curves, gentle slopes, asymmetrical openings ... the collection’s smooth contours radi ate
a harmonious power. They celebrate the order of irreg ularity in nature and promise a feeling
of well-being which will appeal to all of the senses. WellCome offers diners a reception which
is full of promises and irresistibly encourages them to savour culinary secrets in a new way.

Generation
Page 11
A milestone in the history of porcelain
A new GENERATION has arrived: A delicate cream-coloured porcelain which is also
hard enough to withstand the tough day-to-day requirements of the food service
industry. As a result of the newly develop ed Dura cream® body, which, like any
hard porcelain, is fired at 1,400 °C, GENERATION is also extremely scratch resistant
and, what’s more, particularly chipping resistant. A combination of outstanding
functional properties and visual characteristics never before attained in porcelain!
A hint of retro and lots of modernism. Characteristic of a new generation.
GENERATION distinguishes itself by the purity of its shape which charmingly
combines the hint of a retro-look with a clear and at the same time soft design
to create a new style.
CHARACTER
Page 13
Personality with a profile
Hans-Wilhelm Seitz, the designer of many successful porcelain shapes, manages time and
again to transform the things which inspire him into extraordinary creations – and this is
also evident with the new CHARACTER structure line.
The novel, modern and lively band structure on the steep rims of the items succeeds in
combining atmosphere, emotiveness and decorative elements in a reserved and natural way.
CHARACTER thus gives your culinary creations in the truest sense of the word a new,
unmistakeable character.
SIGNATURE
Page 15
Individuality has a new name
A plate is a plate and will always be a plate. This may be true, but the creative touches
added by the renowned de signer Carsten Gollnick turn it into a stage for culinary
visions. Signature enhances our eating customs and visual expectations and invites us
to experi ence cuisine in entirely new dimensions, with ingenious creations that cater
for novel, imaginative culinary trends.
The design touches are not just for design’s sake, but have been crafted to cater for
the specific demands of modern gastronomy. Signature is a form of porcelain that
appreciates how to set trends – delighting in experimentation.
DesignAwardWinner2000 PremiereSetting the stage ...
Premiere is more than just tableware. Premiere is the answer to contemporary needs. It is a concept
that offers you new ways of constantly redesigning the table setting creatively, using modern materi-
als that make the guests feel they are enjoying an exceptional experience. A wholly new visual ex -
perience is provided by the modern combination of china and stainless steel produced by the talent
of a single designer.
The design concept is based on the play between ”serve” and ”preserve”. The well of the plate is
raised, optically emphasized by the characteristic borderline. The food can be presented as if on a
stage. By contrast, the conically shaped pieces such as the jug and creamer, protect their contents.
The innovative Premiere concept proudly received the IF Product Design Award 2000.

Fine Dining
Shape 900
A new concept for fine cuisineThematic gastronomy is gaining more and more importance. Tempting delicacies
from all parts of the world, served in delightful, small portions, are the modern trend.
The gourmet pieces developed for these requirements will place your specialities in
an effective setting and can be combined stylishly with other articles in the
Schönwald Collection.
A delicate, thin porcelain, a clear, timeless form – these are the distinctive features
of Fine Dining. Delicate handles and broad rims embody stylish table service culture
and stand for dining in a superior ambience. Pure elegance!
Page 19

International VarietyOur dining culture is changing. The new trend in food is enjoying a variety of
delicacies from around the world rather than eating according to a fixed menu.
Sushi, antipasti, soups, salads, dips or tea: served in a light and uncomplicated
manner, this new snack culture reflects a new and virtually borderless cosmopolitan
society. Snacks are the trend.
The new Schönwald collection “Unlimited” provides a re fined setting for the latest
in food trends. With a few multi functional elements you can conjure up an entire
culinary world on your dining table.

component of superior table setting. The porcelain from which
the guest takes food from the buffet is the same as on the
dining table, creating a wonderfully harmonious entity.
The mix of shapes and materials lend the table a varied, natural
and at the same time elegant look. In combination the various
items join together to create a stylish and exciting impression.
Brilliant ideas are always simple.
The EVENT buffet collection im presses by virtue of its intelligent
mix of innovative design, pure aesthetics and perfectly shaped
functionality. Extraordinary flexi bility characterises this new
range, which understands the buffet of today as a natural Page 23
Avanti
Shape 1398
A new spirit ...”Rational avant-garde and contemporary romanticism“ – the key-note of
Jo Laubner’s up-to-the minute creations. A harmonious interaction of functionalism
and excitingly tense linearity – yet it all fits together quite naturally. Avanti is the
expression of a wholly modern mood.
Everything is possible. From aristocratic understatement to outspoken elegance.
Qua lity and functionalism are the underlying virtues of an assured identity apparent
in the form of dynamism and versatility. China, glass and decorative power form
a whole that constantly conjures up unique dining experiences.
Page 25
Shape 98Timeless designThe legendary shape 98, synonymous with trendsetting design,
is notable for a design that is as simple as it is brilliant, and has
consequently become a byword for timeless style. This shape,
created in 1936 by Dr. Hermann Gretsch, was in its day the
first hotel china where the design of every single element
matched all other items in the range.
Its shape, reduced to the essentials, makes it so versatile that
it allows even modern requirements to be interpreted and
fulfilled in perfect style.
Form 98 is and remains at the very heart of Schönwald's
design expertise in the field of china for the catering sector.
Page 27
Marquis
Shape 700
Cavalier of good tasteThe traditional language of the cups’ and pots’ shape, the richly decorated
handles as well as the sophisticated lid knobs speak a seductive, enjoyable
language. All service items are decorated with a fine relief – a reminiscence
of the art of festooning. And the plate’s rim is also decorated with rich relief
ornaments.
In creating shape Marquis, the sculptor Hans Achtziger succeeded in com bin -
ing sophisticated design and the requirements of the gastronomy and cater -
ing trade.
Page 29
Sanspareil
Shape 798
For incomparable momentsSometimes shapes are created which are unique.
Such as the incomparable shape 798 – therefore
it is called Sanspareil. The designer Ferdinand
Pleyer picked up baroque stylistic elements and
with their help he gave new life to the move-
ments of a great epoch. For example by the soft
lines, which are continued from the coffee pot
and the festooned plates to the lavish handles.
Underlined by a fine relief, which covers the
whole shape like a translucent cloth.
Page 31
Donna
Shape 1298
Simply beautiful ...Pleasure across the entire spectrum – the harmony
of Donna emerges through a finely crafted raised
pattern of arches, which open out on all pieces.
A real pleasure to behold. When design and decor,
quality and beauty are perfected in a single entity:
functional purpose takes on the dimension of style,
as a complete experi ence in taste.
Page 33
Vario
Shape 1498
Round the world ...World-renowned Jo Laubner has created this natural feeling in its design. Vario is a natural winner.
Trust your instinct. This beautiful round form embraced in fascinating design logic.
Whether your guests experience Vario in the lobby of a top hotel, in a modern bar or the am bience
of a beautiful garden restaurant, Vario always radiates the feeling of pleasure. Even with few pieces,
Vario is outstanding as a flexible and practical partner in the catering trade.

Shining prospects
From china and cutlery to glassware and other decorative features of a laid table: attractive table decorations and de-
lightful presentations of a wide variety of culinary trends depend upon the harmonious combination of the individual
components. Whether the intended look is a classic, minimalist or extravagant one, it will only be genuinely successful
if everything on the table has a purpose and a place. Every item contributes towards the final result, every element
plays a specific role and becomes integral to the aesthetic effect.
Glass and china from Schönwald blend together perfectly on your table, style and niveau working
together as one. Because our glassware has to meet the same high standards as our china,
Schönwald glassware represents aesthetic appeal, practicality and high value. The crystal glass is
not only notable for its brilliant appearance but is also designed to withstand the wear and tear
of everyday use in hotels, restaurants and in catering.
