What is the heart? The human heart is

incredible – Beats 100,000 times a day pumping some 2000 gallons of blood through 60,000 miles of blood vessels.It delivers nutrients to every cell of the body. Over the average lifetime it will beat some 2.5 BILLION times

What is the heart? The human heart is NOT the

heart that we are concerned with. Though it is this organ the Bible

compares our spiritual life to. As the heart is essential to life, so is the spiritual heart to spiritual life.

heart with no real root. A shallow faith. First sign of trouble he quits. We must take time to make sure one understands the commitment of following Jesus

heart with divided interests. Describes one who wants to hold on to the world yet still profess to follow Jesus. NOT fully committed! James 4:4

What type of heart? Good and honest heart 8:7, 15 – a heart that receives the word (it takes DEEP root) and applies it.

What type of heart? Can a heart change? It depends on the person and

circumstances. BUT, it often takes great effort – just like converting soil to rich farmland.
