Our Mission is to equip and enable believers to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by word and deed, both locally and abroad. Locally, Nationally and Internationally!

To donate and support the LeMarquands, send your check to SAMS (Society of Anglican Missionaries and

Senders) PO Box 399, Ambridge, PA 15003 (put their name the MEMO line of check)

Your Global Missions Ministry set into motion many ministry initiatives. Here are some of the many coming up!

Integrity Bottle Recycling - Folks are encouraged to bring their bottles to Integrity (located next to St. Bart’s) and the money from their deposits goes to support St. Bart’s Mission Initiatives. We have already received several checks that will be used for “Missions” at St. Bart’s.

Crescent Project - We are reviewing the video teaching series “Bridges” on understanding Muslims and will make available to the parish in the Fall.

Compassion Weekend - 19th and 20th we will have packets available for people to sponsor a Compassion Child.

Cornerstone Manor - we will gather with a group from the parish and throw an “old fashioned cook-out” for the women and children at Cornerstone. There is a clipboard in Father Amend Hall if you would like to volunteer!

Happy 95th Birthday to The Rev. Dr. Billy Graham! Watch for more details about his special (My Hope America) message and a dessert and coffee celebration in his honor here at St. Bart’s, Sat. Nov. 9, at 7PM.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 23 at 6 PM. Please come and joins us - you don’t have to be a missionary to attend!!!!!

Attention All Snowbirds!

Here are some more pictures from the

celebration of Fr. Amend’s 80th birthday. It

was a big surprise for Fr. Amend and

everyone enjoyed the unveiling of the 2

plaques officially naming the Parish Hall as

Father Amend Hall.

Sunday, October 6 will be Fr. Ed Kusmierczyk’s last Sunday with us. He and Georgia are

moving to Florida. We are having a catered luncheon in their honor following the 11 AM

service that day. We hope that there will be a great turnout to show them how much they

mean to us. The clergy recently had a luncheon in his honor. Here is a picture of Fr. Ed and

Fr. Ward in the sanctuary. We will miss Fr. Ed and his very personal ministry.

October PPC News

PPC (Prayer for the Persecuted Church) – PPC – Our

next meeting will be Monday, October 14 at 7 PM.

Please continue to pray for our persecuted brothers and

sisters around the world. For details on prisoners, etc.,

please go to the Voice of the Martyrs website:

Farewell To St. Bart’s

It is with bitter sweetness of the

heart that I say farewell to my church

family. By the time you read this my

move to Georgia will have been

completed. Thanks be to God!

Leaving behind 30 years of so many

dear memories of beloved clergy and

friends was tough!

Your outpouring of love was overwhelming. I regret that I was not able to respond to all of

the kind offers for “last time get togethers,” but time was a factor and also emotionally my

heart was grieving. Thank you for your prayers, good wishes, cards, and gifts.

I shall miss each and every one of you, but in the mist of my memories you will never be

forgotten.

Georgia is now on my mind, as the song goes, as well as God’s plans and purpose for the next

chapter in my life. God bless you always! Carol Kibler

Can't be with your family for dinner? Is your family out of town? Is it too expensive to fly at Thanksgiving? Then come and have dinner with your Church family from 3pm to 8pm (dinner served 3:30pm to 5:30pm). There will be a “Sign-up sheet” in Father Amend Hall from Oct. 12 to Nov. 24. Any questions please see Karon Cavalleri, or David Curtis.

We are very excited to begin another year of Missionettes! Missionettes is a national Christian girls club that focuses on discipleship. Our goal with Missionettes is to help your child grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus

Christ. We have a lot of fun playing games, making crafts, and meeting new friends. The girls earn colorful badges as they work their way through 3-4 week units. We have two age groups. The Prims group is grades first through third, and the Stars group is for grades fourth and fifth.

We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 6:45 to 8, immediately following Junior Choir. Our October meetings are scheduled for the 2nd and 16th. If you are interested in more information about Missionettes, please contact Michelle McCarthy at 836-2790.

Thank you to the Gardening Committee!

At a time when the “growing season” is winding down, we want to thank these hard working

volunteers who are answering a call to ministering and glorifying our Lord.

Take a few moments when you are at church and marvel at the glorious gardens that are

nurtured on a daily basis by these volunteers. Notice the flowers that are arranged as

“welcome” near the front doors.

New volunteers are always welcome to join. Please see Judy and David Curtis if you are

interested.

25 bags of food were taken to the Food Pantry in September. Thank you for your generosity!

The Food Pantry is in need of personal care items. Food items most needed are cereal, pancake mix, pancake syrup, peanut butter, jelly, tuna fish, small cans of soup, dry soup mixes and mac & cheese.

Please bring your items on the FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH so that our “Food Pantry Delivery Angels” only have to make one trip.

"Galaxy of Quilts" Quilt Show is Friday and Saturday, October 4 & 5 at St. Bart's. The Bishop Scaife Guild will be having a baked goods sale and serve sandwiches and pizza at the show. If you would like to donate baked goods, please bring them by Thursday evening and put them in the kitchen.

COMING EVENTS:

November 16 & 17: Fall Fabulous Soup Sale - Soup made by Jim Glownia - available after all services. November 23: Christmas Sale - Please bring Christmas items to the Gift Shop by November 21.

December 8: Christmas Cookie Ingathering: Boxes of Christmas cookies will be made and delivered to our shut ins.

Bundles for Babies: Please bring any baby items to the Gift Shop. When our basket is full they will be delivered to Cornerstone Manor (City Mission's Women & Children facility). Threads of Hope: They are always in need of linens and small appliances in good condition for refugees and those who have lost all their household goods in fires. This is a non-denominational ministry that receives requests for household items only if they have a voucher from a social worker or church staff member. Questions - Call Carol Siock (835-2105). PLEASE DEPOSIT YOUR DASH RECEIPTS IN THE BAG ON THE GIFT SHOP DOOR.

Let Us Arise & Build Update: 236 commitments for $743,126 have been made. As of August 31, 2013, $703,000 or 94.6% has been received in actual donations. The clergy and some of their wives will be attending the Clergy & Spouse Conference for the International Diocese October 7 - 10 at Christ Church in New Braunfels, TX (outside of San Antonio).

Speakers from the Northtown Crisis Pregnancy Center will be speaking at all our services on September 28 & 29.
