Our four stars continue to shine
Featuring powerful, maintenance-free motors, these centrifuges accommodate a variety of rotors to meet your application needs. They are three centrifuges in one: a high-capacity, general-purpose centrifuge for cell harvesting; a high-speed centrifuge for separating cell lysates; and a microcentrifuge for DNA precipitations.
For lower capacity needs in one compact unit, Centrifuge 5804 (refrigerated: 5804 R) spins plates and tubes from 0.2 mL to 4 × 100 mL at low-to-high speeds for a wide range of applications. These compact centrifuges can accommodate capacities of up to 16 × 15 mL conical (Falcon®) or 30 microcentrifuge tubes per run.
Centrifuge 5810 (refrigerated: 5810 R) offers maximum application versatility and popular tube capacity, accommodating up to 4 × 500 mL tubes or 16 microplates. These compact, benchtop centrifuges achieve remarkable throughput of up to 48 × 15 mL or 20 × 50 mL conical (Falcon®) tubes.

The large back-lit LCD display and easy-to-clean soft keypad comprise the user-friendly “command center” in the 5804 / 5810 series.
The alphanumeric display shows the current operating status at a glance – most parameters can even be changed during centri fugation. A further useful detail: The last user program used stays automatically on display for the currently installed rotor.
Easily input relative centrifugal force (rcf), speed (rpm), radius correction values (rad), and temperature (–9 °C to +40 °C); the short-spin key enables quick runs at your desired rotational speed.
Options for time settings include 10 acceleration and braking ramps to better protect sensitive samples. The FastTemp function, a common feature on popular Eppendorf models, enables rapid pre-cooling of the rotor and centrifuge for runs in the low-temperature ranges.
The operating concept
‡ Speed, rcf, and radius correction values are easily entered‡ Values can be changed during centrifugation‡ Temperature range from –9 to +40 °C*‡ Stand-by refrigeration*‡ Speed can be set from 200 rpm to maximum speed
in increments of 10 rpm
‡ Save up to 35 individual user programs‡ Short-spin key with selectable rotational speed‡ “at set rpm” for even more reproducible results‡ FastTemp function* for rapid cooling of the rotor chamber‡ 10 acceleration and braking ramps for added protection
of sensitive sample material
* Refrigerated Centrifuges 5804 R and 5810 R only.
User-friendly operation
We kept it smart, but made it simple
5
Always a perfect fit
The operating concept
‡ Adapters allow most commercially available tubes to be centrifuged in our swing-bucket rotors
‡ Flexible modular design: different tube lengths fit into one adapter
‡ Stable on the benchtop; makes them well suited for the processing and preparation of series of samples
‡ Fully autoclavable (20 min, 121 °C)‡ Easy to disassemble and clean
Simple adapters for swing-bucket rotors The modular construction of most adapters for our 5804 / 5810 series swing-bucket rotors allow centrifugation of practically all commercially available tubes. Stack adapter modules to your required height and simply lower them onto the holders in the rectangular buckets. Additional exchangeable swing-buckets for MTPs and 50 mL Falcon® tubes can be combined with the rotor crosses and open up even more application options.
The stable plastic adapters are solidly constructed and can be easily cleaned. They can even be autoclaved in their entirety in the event of contamination with biologically active sample material.

The given times are to be considered guidelines. While level 9 means “strongest braking,” level 0 means “free deceleration,” whereby considerable fl uctuations can occur with this uncontrolled deceleration, depending upon the condition of the device and the load.
*The deceleration times for the 230 V and 120 V devices are almost identical.
Centrifuges 5804 (refrigerated version 5804 R) and 5810 (refrigerated version 5810 R) together with the high-performance,
high-capacity swing-bucket rotors accommodate virtually all commercially available tubes from 0.2 mL to 500 mL.

The test procedure simulates the accidental release of biological material (bacteria) inside the closed rotor or closed rectangular bucket. Air and swab samples are taken to ensure that no material is released from the closed rectangular buckets or closed rotor during operation.
*4 The swing-bucket rotor can be delivered without buckets, equipped with rectangular buckets as an A-4-81 or with MTP/Flex buckets as an A-4-81-MTP/Flex, whereby the MTP/Flex buckets can be purchased separately in sets of 2 or 4. A user-friendly change of rectangular buckets or MTP/Flex buckets is guaranteed by the use of a common rotor cross.

Info
Load capacity of the adapters may be reduced if the maximum tube length is exceeded. In this case please be sure to carry out a manual swing test. In addition, the use of tubes with oversized lids can result in a decrease of the load capacity of the adapter. Swing-bucket rotors are delivered with buckets from one weight class. When reordering buckets, please provide the already existing weight class. This is imprinted in the side of the nut, e.g., “86.” Please note the manufacturer specifi cations for the maximum centrifugation capacity of tubes, kits, plates and plate stacks.

*2 With the A-2-DWP, only half of the plates/glass slides can be used per rotor.
*3 With the A-2-DWP, a slightly lower rcf of approx. 2,200 × g is reached at a max. rotational speed of 3,700 rpm and a reduced radius.
*4 The probability of glass breakage increases with an exertion greater than the allowed rcf of 100 × g. The limiting data from the manufacturer of the glass slides/microarrays with respect to endurance must be observed in each case. A test run with empty glass slides from the manufacturer is recommended.

*1 Eppendorf centrifuges serve to separate components of mixtures of different densities, especially for the preparation and processing of samples from the human body within the scope of In-vitro diagnostics applications, in order to allow the In-vitro diagnostic medical device to be used as intended. Therefore centrifuges,
being in-vitro diagnostics accessories, are in themselves In-vitro diagnostic medical devices within the meaning of Directive 98/79/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 1998 in-vitro diagnostic medical devices. Eppendorf centrifuges are intended exclusively for use indoors, and for operation by qualified staff.
