The car is equipped with a CONNECT Nav+ system designed according to the specific features of the passen-ger compartment with a customised design which matches the style of the dashboard.

The system is installed in an ergonomically convenient position for the driver and the passenger; the graphic onthe front panel helps to quickly identify the controls and makes them easier to use.

In order to deter thefts, the device is provided with a special protection system and may only be used on thecar where it was originally fitted.

The interface language of the system is that in use in the country where the car is registered. Contact a FiatDealership to change the language or the voice (male/female) at a later time.

Read the following instructions carefully and keep the instructions at hand at all times (e.g. in the oddmentcompartment).

Enjoy.

TIPS

ROAD SAFETY

We recommend that you learn touse the various car radio and naviga-tor functions (for example, storing sta-tions) before starting to drive.

RECEPTION CONDITIONS

Reception conditions change con-stantly while driving. Reception may bedisturbed near mountains, buildings orbridges especially when you are faraway from the broadcaster’s tran-smitter.

IMPORTANT When receivingtraffic information, there may be an in-crease in volume with respect to nor-mal.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

The constructive structure of the ra-dio and navigation system guaranteesa long life without any need for parti-cular maintenance. In the case of da-mage, contact a Fiat Dealership.

The following precautions will ensu-re fully efficient operation of the radioand navigation system:

– the monitor may be scratched anddamaged by liquid detergents and UVradiation;

– the device could be damagedbeyond repair if fluids penetrate insi-de.

Use a clean, dry, antistatic, soft clothto clean the front panel and the displayonly. Cleaning and polishing productscould damage the surface.

TIPS, CONTROLS AND GENERAL INFORMATION

Excessively high volumewhile you are driving may

endanger your life and that ofothers. Always adjust the volume soyou are able to hear the surroun-ding noises (for example, horns, ambulances, police cars, etc.).

WARNING

5

NOTES

– Contact a Fiat Dealership onlyfor repairs to the radio and navigationsystem, if required.

– The display may take some time toreach optimal brightness in the eventof particularly low temperatures.

– The overheat protection device ofthe system may trip if the car is parkedfor a long time and the outside tem-perature is high. The system will startworking again when the temperaturein the passenger compartment returnsto acceptable levels.

CDWhen using the audio CD player, re-

member that dirt or scratches on a CDmay make it skip and cause poor play-back quality. The same things may hap-pen if the CDs are bent.

IMPORTANT Do not use 8-cmaudio CDs or MP3 CDs even with aspecific adapter. This type of disk maydamage the system.

To achieve optimal playing condi-tions, we recommend the following:

– Only use audio CDs with the fol-lowing trademark:

– Do not use chemical cleaning pro-ducts (e.g. antistatic products, sprays,or thinners) to prevent damage to theCD surface.

– After playing a CD, put it back itcase to prevent marks and scratcheswhich could make it skip during play-back.

– Keep CDs away from direct sunli-ght, high temperatures and prolongedhumidity to prevent bending them.

– Do not stick labels or write on therecorded side of a CD.

To extract a CD from its case, pressonto the middle of the case and lift theCD holding it from its edges.

Proper way to holdthe compact disc

Removing the disc

– Carefully clean each CD with softcloth. Remove fingerprints and dust.Hold the CD from the edges and cleanit from the middle to the edges.

Be careful not to scratchthe display with sharp or ri-gid objects. Avoid touching it

with your fingers. Do not press onthe display when cleaning it.

6

Always only hold a CD from its ed-ges. Never touch the surface.

Use a soft cloth and sweep the CDfrom the middle towards the edge toremove fingerprints and dust.

New CDs may be rough along theedges. The device may not work pro-perly and playback may skip in this ca-se. Rub the edge with a ballpoint penor the like to make the edges of theCD smooth.

IMPORTANT Do not use com-mercially available protective sheets forCDs or disks with stabilisers as thesecould get stuck in the internal mecha-nism and damage the disk.

IMPORTANT If a copy protectedCD is used, it may take a few secondsbefore the system will start to play it.In addition, due to the proliferation ofnew and different protective methods,it cannot always be guaranteed thatthe CD player will play every protec-ted disk. The presence of a copy pro-tection system is often written in verysmall, difficultly legible print on the co-ver of the CD itself. Possible wordingincludes “COPY CONTROL”,“COPY PROTECTED”, “THIS CDCANNOT BE PLAYED ON APC/MAC”. Symbols such as the fol-lowing may be used:

The symbol used to identify audioCDs is often missing from the disk andthe cover of a copy protected CD:
