It was great to put faces to names at the School of Christian Mission inMurfreesboro. I thank God that He blessed us with thinking quick on ourfeet. The rains came, Murfreesboro First got wet and the event was moved

St. Marks with hardly a hitch. Thanks to Murfreesboro First and St. Markfor their cooperation and I know Caroline and Joyce were blessed by the spof cooperation. I will have pictures online soon!

Please be patient as I work to have this newsletter easy to open!!

    Celebrating Labor Day

Iconic image of Rosie the Riveter, but with the words 'Don't Call me RosieOr Else!' above her head.

From Jason Brock, Director of Mercy, Mission and Justice, TN Conference:

As some of you know, I (Mary T) work with Native American Ministries on the conference level and

more. One of our guests at our 11th annual event, Native Moccasins Rock, was a United Methodist

Woman. Meet Commissioner of Veteran Affairs for the state of Tennessee. Commissioner Many BearsGrinder attends Rehoboth UMC in the Cumberland District. She was gracious to

come and talk to the youth who were attending our week end event. Sharing from

her heart about her passion of service to our country was a thought provoking time

for the youth. A project for the youth was stuffing turtleswith prayer pockets.

They will be sent to our wounded warriors. So a shout out to our

    Woman in the News

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor

movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of

American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to thecontributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-

being of our country. It started in 1882.**But lets have a shout out to the Rosie in us!

The magazine cover exemplified the American can-do spirit and

illustrated the notion of women working in previously male-

dominated manufacturing jobs, an ever-growing reality, to help the

United States fight the war while the men fought over seas.
