All events have been canceled since the middle of March. As we all try to work through these tough times, the Legion is excited to finally be open again. Restrictions are still in place as mandated by the state which means we can only operate at 50% capacity. Memorial Day services had to be canceled, but with favorable weather the flags have been posted. The last two pages of this month’s edition include a list of veterans we continue to remember this Memorial Day. New flags for the following were added to the rollcall this year: Thomas Geary, Wendell Oltmanns, Carlyle "Swede" Dirks, Orval Seibens, Gene Dickman, Gary "Griz" Schiltz, Doug Osterbuhr. I would like to give a shout-out to Gene Beitelspacher, Randall Toel and Ronnie Ludwigs for doing a deep cleaning of the Legion Hall and the new finish on the dance floor. Your continued support to the Legion is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Signs that you may be having

a stroke

Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg,

especially on one side of the body

Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding

Sudden trouble seeing or blurred vision in one or both

eyes

Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or

coordination

Sudden severe headache with no known cause

You should never wait more than five minutes to dial 9-1-1

if you experience even one of the signs above.

Remember, you could be having a stroke even if you’re

not experiencing all of the symptoms. And remember to

check the time. The responding emergency medical

technician or ER nurse at the hospital will need to know

when the first symptom occurred.

Stroke is not only the No. 4 cause of death in the United

States, it’s also a leading cause of severe, long-term

disability.
