March 16, 1954 The Board of Trustees, Arkansas State Teachers College, met in the Presi- dent's office, Arkansas State Teachers College, Conway, Arkansas, Tuesday, March 16, 1954, pursuant to legal call of the meeting by the Chairman. The following members were present: Chairman James H. Flanagirj Vice- Chairman Carl H. Brown.} 0. H. Parhamj Louie H. Polk and J. W. Teeter. Trustees Morgan and Ashmore were absent. President Snow met with the Board. Chairman Flanagin directed roll call and announced a quorum present and called the meeting into formal session. Minutes of the last meeting of the Board were approved as read. Chairman Flanagin stated that the election of officers for the next year was in order. Upon the motion of Trustee Polk, seconded by Trustee Parham, the Board unanimously reelected Dr. James H. Flanagin as Chairman; and upon the motion of Trustee Teeter, seconded by Trustee Parham, the Board unanimously reelected Mr. Carl H. Brown as Vice-Chairman and Mrs. Rufus W. Morgan, Jr. as Secretary. ! Chairman Flanagin called for items of old or pending business. Upon the motion of Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Parham 'the Board unanimously accepted the low bid ($40,840.00) of E. W. Daniel for air conditioning the auditorium and Architect Bruce Anderson was directed to award the contract and issue work order - work to be completed by May 18, 1954. May 18, 1954 was agreed upon for the date of the next Board meeting, to be followed by the First Annual Service Award Banquet at 7:30 P.M. After a general discussion it was recommended that further study be given plans for the proposed new administration building and another report made at the next meeting of the Board. President Snow reported that Million Motor Company of Pocahontas, Arkansas was low bidder and had been awarded the contract by the State Purchasing Agent to supply one Ford, two speed transmission chassis for the new college bus. The bid price was $2381.81. Ward Body Works, Inc., Conway, Arkansas was awarded contract for a twenty-six foot conventional school bus body for the low bid price of $2011.55 (and our old bus).

The Board of Trustees, Arkansas State Teachers College, met in the Presi-dent's office, Arkansas State Teachers College, Conway, Arkansas, Tuesday,March 16, 1954, pursuant to legal call of the meeting by the Chairman.The following members were present: Chairman James H. One new band uniform, exactly as per required specifications, was received,examined and approved by the Board.

There being no other items of pending business, Chairman Flanagin calledfor items of new business.

Trustee Teeter made the motion, seconded by Trustee Polk that existingregulations concerning insurance policy and program be adhered to withoutchange. The motion carried unanimously. President Snow was directed toadvise Mr. Herman Benton of same and suggest that he affiliate with thegroup of insurance agencies of which Mr. Guy R. Farris is Chairman beforehe would be considered to receive any of the college insurance.

the request from Ralph Behrens that his leave of absence be extended one yearand that the resignation of Bernard Kneiger and Miss Marion Huxley be accepted.Trustee Parham made the motion, seconded by Trustee Polk and unanimouslyapproved by the Board that personnel list as submitted be deoted for the year1954-55 and that the recommendations be approved.

Upon the motion of Trustee Brown, seconded by Trustee Parham, the Boardunanimously accepted and approved the calendar for the college catalogue to beprinted this spring.

The dining hall report was presented by Business Manager Harold Eidson. Amotion was made by Trustee Parham, seconded by Trustee Polk that the entire livingquarters for Mr. Howard Montgomery, Manager of the dining hall, be made rentfree. The motion was unanimously approved.

Trial balance for the month of February and budget for 1954-55 submitted andrecommended by the administration v;as unanimously approved and formally adopted.The budget is listed:
