Transcript of The Arts Centre Telford - The Year Ahead - 2014-2015

The Arts Centre Telford (TACT) is a theatre company and arts education provider, offering a vibrant and unique series of entertainment and learning events for children, young people and the wider communities of Telford and Shropshire.

We run a youth theatre, an adult theatre company (Voices in Partnership) and a full programme of singing and drama tuition, leading to London College of Music and LAMDA examinations.

TACT produces plays, musicals and concerts throughout Shropshire and whilst many young performers work with us simply to have fun, many others are accessing training opportunities to help them progress towards their chosen career path.

We provide an environment that fosters creativity, excellence and individuality. We have an outstanding team of experienced theatre and education professionals that provide expert guidance, tuition and direction.

We accept students from age 8 and we are always delighted to welcome new members to the company.Producers: Ruth Standley, Ross Doodson and Bobby Standley

!The works of William Shakespeare are known, respected and performed all over the world. His stories have been used and recreated in countless productions and films including, most famously, the ill-fated story of Romeo and Juliet, also retold in the form of Leonard Bernstein’s musical West Side Story. !Filled with a cast of unforgettable characters, Twelfth Night combines cruelty with high comedy and the pangs of unrequited love with some of the subtlest poetry and most exquisite songs Shakespeare ever wrote.

Shakespeare offers another new opportunity to the members of TACT, providing a learning platform for classic text as well as an appreciation of the work of ‘The Bard’. Building on the successes of recent productions, including TACT Newport’s production of The 39 Steps, we are excited to introduce a new element in the performance and learning of theatre.
