From the inception of college in ambits of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University,
faculty of Engineering and Technology has revised course structure and syllabus in
2004 and 2007.
In 2007 course, unit test system has been introduced for the continuous assessment of
performance of students.
In-plant training of six weeks of all students has been made as integrated part of course
curriculum. In this in-plant training students have to work in the industry for six weeks
after their 6th
semester and resumes rest of the academics in subsequent semester.
This has made engineering students aware about practical knowledge, latest technology
implemented in the market, work culture of industry and made his/her horizon wider
and understand theory in a better manner.

34. Activities of Guidance and Counseling Cell:
At the departmental level, each class is appointed with a guardian faculty member (G. F. M.).
GFM collects all the information of the students of the concerned class about the attendance of
the student in various subjects, the performance of the students in various examinations
conducted by the college and other personal details. He also helps the students personally by
counselling the students in their personal and academic problems. He also interacts with the
parents of the students. He informs the parents about the attendance and performance of the
students. He conducts the meeting of the students to discuss about the complaints and the
difficulties of the students and conveys this to the HOD. HOD of each department conducts
meeting of students of each class once in a month and try to solve the problems faced by the
students.
The guidance to the weak students is been given by our department .Special attention is given to
the career counselling of the students, where students queries were solved by the senior staff
members of the department. A separate register is maintained for the same. A special slot in the
timetablewas given for activities related to this cell .The training and placement department
arranges some seminar for the students in the same slot. A GFM (guardian faculty member) was
appointed for each class to enhance the interaction of the student - staff relation and to find out
the weaknesses in the class, to overcome the barriers in the success of department‟s products. In
addition to this, five student leaders were appointed from each class each leader may have 10-12
students under him. This was done in order to increase the rate of problem finding and problem
evaluation. Students have to convey their problems to their leader and leader will immediately
convey it to the GFM of that particular class. GFM in consultation with the cell and HOD will
solve the problem. Vice –versa. If GFM have to pass some immediate notice to the students, they
will pass it to leaders and leaders have to convey to the students under his group. The seminar
called Footsteps of passed alumni‟s were arranged in order to give guidance for future job
selection, chemical engineering and future aspects etc. in addition to last year special attention
was given to female student for any genuine reason by appointing a ladies staff member from the
department . Placement department of the college has organized seminar for facing interviews.
A special guidance and counselling cell called TIME was arranged at college level by Training
and placement department .Under these cell seminars were organized in the department on
various subjects .One staff member from the department is appointed to look after these
activities.
