10 Student feedback mechanism on Institutional Governance/faculty performance

At the end of the session, students are required to give written feedback for the improvement of infrastructure, teaching, laboratory , recreation facilities. This feedback provides an important input to the college management for continuous quality improvement. The important role of `feedback' in improving teaching learning and administrative activities in general. Feedback is used primarily as an error detection mechanism and functions to provide guidance to the College system; such that is can operate effectively. For this procedure, College has developed specialized software. The feedback is conducted in areas like Faculty, Administrative process, College Activities. In academic year 2008-2009, 1485+ students have given their feedback on various College activities.

11 Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty , staff and students

There is a grievance redressal cell for the staff members at the university level. The terms of reference of the redressal cell have been formulated by the university. The grievances of the staff are referred to this cell after preliminary investigation by the Principal. There is also an internal mechanism to settle grievances. Grievances of students are addressed at the college level. The grievance redressal cell is headed by the Principal and heads of the departments are the members. The students can report their grievances through suggestion box or directly to the committee. The committee meets as and when required to discuss solutions on the grievances of the students.

• The training and placement department conducts various training programs w hich help the students to prepare themselves for the corporate placements.

• Also various mock placements are held in the college campus w hich enable the students to get familiar w ith the placement environment.

• The third year students are given industrial training in reputed companies to get acquainted w ith the kind of job they w ill have to deal in future.

• The art circle of the college prepares the students for various inter college events like dramatics, dance competitions, singing competitions and band performances. This group conducts various auditions to recruit the students. The focus is mainly given to the first and second year students since w e get top see new talents.

• A national level techno cultural fest Bharatiyam is organized every year by the students.

Cultural activities Cultural activities : Our college has a profound history of encouraging all the students in its premises to showcase their talents before an audience. It is no wonder then that we boast of organizing one of the biggest cultural jests nationwide, called “Bharatiyam”, which at tracts an envious amount of youth from across the country annually. The dramatic society of our college is considered to be a stepping stone towards a journey the destination of which usually is meaningful theatre & film industry. The dance group & the college rock band are also recognized in the whole of Maharashtra courtesy their winning accolades wherever they go.

Magazine / Newsletter Annual College Magazine 2010 : Our College Magazine Genre 4th issue getting published & theme of this magazine is “Go Green”, it comprises of Hindi, Marathi Section. It also covering 4 regional languages. The magazine is a showcase of all the achievements of students which includes sports & extra curricular activities.

Technical activities / Tech Fest

Bharatiyam-Techfest keeping in with the tradition of bringing forth the best innovations of the finest minds in the country, in the most conducive milieu, the college organizes a annual Techfest and cultural event Bharatiyam. Bharatiyam aims to bring the students together on a common platform to achieve a new pinnacle in the cultural and technical domain through constructive interaction and healthy competition between the participants from myriad corners of the nation. Bharatiyam promotes and replenishes penchant for knowledge, attitude for creativity and inquiry and scientific temper.

Industrial Visits / Tours Various departments keep proper liaison with the industrial. To make the students aware of latest technologies in the industry/field, Industrial visits/tours are arranged for the students. These visits/tours are related to the topic from their curricula and help the students to have proper interlinking between theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

Pune. Alumni activities There is a alumni association of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed

University College of Engineering. This association is registered with Deputy Charity Commissioner and registration number is 1153. It consist of executive council of 25 members, who meet 4 times in a year for its business. Alumni association meets once every year. Till date there are 3200 alumni registered.
