Green is the color of the Season after Pentecost and it is also the color symbolizing Epiphany. The period called the Season after Pentecost is a time in which we re-enact the story of salvation proclaimed in the preceding seasons. The liturgical color is green, symbolizing growth. This season is sometimes re-
ferred to as "ordinary time". The last Sunday of the Season after Pentecost is often called the Sunday of Christ the King. It is a day of triumph of our Lord and his final victory in the heart of the community. Then, since we are as yet imperfect people in an imperfect world, we begin the cycle again with Advent, waiting for God to work His miracles in our hearts.

Lakota Mission Angels - Pine Ridge Reservation
Allen, South Dakota Subsequent to the article that appeared on the previous Newsletter on the
Lakota Pine Ridge Reservation, the following has passed:
(1) I met Tim and Kim Wardell, Missionaries to the Lakota Native Ameri-
cans at the reservation in Allen, South Dakota, during their recent visit
to St. Clement’s,
(2) I have started corresponding with 10-ear-old Michael Red Elk and
with 6-year-old Carrisa Blacksmith, both of whom have a very sad sto-
ry and are desperately poor.
(3) Mr. and Mrs. Wardell mentioned that their mission needs prayer part-
ners and also support “angels” who can help with the modest sum of
$10.00 monthly. Tim and Kim Wardell are members of the Church of
God Ministries, Anderson, IN.
(4) I have personally agreed to meet both needs. However, Deacon Lucy
and Fr. Jamie believe that this should also be a parish-wide effort, as
part of St. Clement’s Outreach Program
(5) Today, I also learned that Kay Morrison has made several trips to Al-
len, S.D. because her school has a “sister” school” in Allen, and has tak-
en students to visit the reservation. She has even learned to communi-
cate in the Lakota language! Because of her experience, Kay and I will
get together and make a presentation to the parish to involve every-
one in this worthy outreach effort. Please look for it.

Greetings Everyone,
Please come out to the cook out this Saturday May 21. It will be a very fun afternoon with food, games, and fellowship. This is a great oppor-tunity to see the youth! The event will be from 4-8pm.
As the school year is coming to an end, we have very little things left to do. The next event, and probably the last at the Diocesan level is the Tubing Trip in Hel-en, Ga. The trip in June 4,
2016 from 10AM-4PM. The cost is $20 per per-son. It is a fun day and an incredible opportuni-ty to meet other youth from around the Dio-cese, parents are wel-come to come as well. We need chaperons to drive, so if you are avail-able and willing please let me know. Thank you!
Remember we have EYC at 5:30 pm on Sun-days
Sincerely,
Abel Betances 678-851-2526 [email protected] [email protected]
