We operate in the field of marble, granite and reconstituted stone. We manufacture kitchen bench tops, vanity tops, table tops, stairs, bar tops and more. AMC has established itself as a company which undertakes unique projects for both residential and commercial markets. Our clients have included Block contestants, local golf/surf clubs to high end builders, architects and interior designers as well as home owners and renovators. OUR TEAM

Allambie Marble Crafts has been in the market for more than 25 years. Andrew McMonnies, the current owner, started his apprenticeship 15 years ago with Allambie Marble Crafts. Stefan Post, the previous owner, learned the stonemasonry trade 30 years ago in Germany and passed on his knowledge to Andrew and the staff. All our employees are qualified stonemasons who learned the trade at TAFE NSW. Our staff also benefits from Stefan’s long experience working as a stonemason in Germany and in Sydney. Our business is fully insured ($20 million public liability) and all our employees are covered by workers compensation.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

ADHESIVE USEDWe use a very high standard adhesive called Integra for all our mitre joints and laminations. This product was specially developed for quartz stone and natural stone. It provides improved performance properties over most adhesives used in our industry. The Surface Bonder Xi is a low-emitting product, tested by Eurofins, a world renowned independent laboratory.

EDGE THICKNESSThe standard thickness of slabs is 20 mm. Some colours are available in 30 mm thickness. If the desired edge thickness/finish is 40mm or thicker, all our edges will be done in a mitred edge finish not a butted finish, meaning that NO lamination lines are visible. See photo below.

OVERHANGWe always mitre a return on the underside of the overhang so that you don’t see a gap when you open your cabinet doors. See photo below. This is a standard procedure and included in our quotation if you decided on 40 mm thickness or even thicker.

JOINTSAll our joints are within and above the Australian Standards and filled with the manufacturers recommended colour match silicone or epoxy to match the stone colour. A poor colour match will highlight the join. Many other companies don’t get this right. Allambie Marble Crafts prides itself in completing work to perfection.

COLOUR VARIATIONSReconstituted stones like Caesar Stone and other brands allow for a colour variation of 5 % in between slabs of the same colour. This colour variation can be quite obvious if different slabs are used for laminations, mitre joins or slabs butting up against each other.

Therefore if we quote on a job where two slabs or more are needed our quotation is always based on slabs with the same batch number (means exactly the same colour). We don’t use any off cuts from other jobs to fulfill your job and risk that the colours of the different benches are not the same. There is NO colour variation in our bench tops. Please keep that in mind when comparing quotations.

SAMPLES VS FULL SLABSA sample tells only part of the story and while a sample is good to give idea of the look and the feel of the slab, it is not a complete indicator of the overall effect of the full slab. We always recommend that customers view the slab prior fabrication to ensure that it meets their expectations and to confirm colour and brand of the selected material. There are cheap brands available on the market which look exactly like the originals but are much cheaper for the stonemason and don’t have the same benefits as the known brands, for example none staining and heat resistance. Always make sure you get what you ask for.

DRY CUTTING AND WARRANTYAt Allambie Marble Crafts we don’t do any dry cutting. Be aware that most manufactures don’t warrant their stone product if the stonemasons have done any dry cutting either at your residency (for instance the cut out for the sink or basin) or in their factory. Please keep this in mind when comparing quotes. We don’t do any dry cutting at your residence either, all our cut outs are done or precut in our factory. This also means that we don’t make any dust at your residence.

You are welcome to visit our factory any time.

ENVIRONMENTWe do all our cutting with machinery running with water instead of dry machinery to minimize the dust in our factory and therefore our employees are not exposed to dust. We do all cutting and cut outs in our factory and not at your residence or in your front yard.

We care about the environment by recycling our water used instead of releasing the slurry into the environment and also catching the rainwater to feed our machines.

WARRANTYAll well-known brands we use such as Caesar Stone, Smart Stone, Silestone etc. warrant their material for at least 10 years.
