We are looking forward to another successful year of HOSA. Our students performed extremely well at the 2018 International Leadership Conference. Thank you to all of the advisors, members and CTE directors who helped to make it the best Utah HOSA year ever! We look forward to receiving our official ranking from nationals soon! We were thrilled at how many times Utah was called to the finals stage … in spite of record setting numbers of competitors! Thank you for your work and preparation with students! The themes for this year: Utah HOSA: Utah HOSA – It’s In Our DNA #uthosaitsinourdna HOSA Future Health Professionals: Define Your Purpose National Service Project: National Pediatric Cancer Foundation Utah HOSA Service Project: Hope for Utah We are so excited for the upcoming year and hope you will be pleased with the changes we have made (as per your evaluations) to improve the preparation of students and advisors. . We are looking forward to the Fall Leadership Conference held at the Provo Marriott in Provo, Utah on October 2. This is a ONE day event. Registration is $40.00 per person – a bargain at any price!! Reminder, all participants will need to register for the conference! We will also have conference T-shirts and other HOSA Swag for sale. If you need hotel accommodations on Monday night, please let me know. The following documents are noted as follows: NEW this year will be members (selected by advisors) to attend a meeting with our Utah State Board of Education to discuss the Utah CTE Portrait of a Graduate. The agenda for FLC is as follows: 8:00 am Check-in and registration. Please make sure your students wear/bring business attire. 8:30 am Opening Session – business attire required. Utah HOSA Executive Council Keynote Speaker – Patty Hendrickson Nationally recognized Leadership Trainer 10:30 am HOSA Competitive Events Training Session Robbie Rauzi, Utah HOSA CE Director 12:10 pm Sit down lunch – included with registration. Please let Denise know of dietary restrictions before September deadline. 12:10 pm HOSA Advisory Board Meeting 1:00 – 1:45 Chapter Presidents’ Session 1:00 –2:40 pm Break-out leadership sessions. Choose 2. Please make sure you have students from your chapter attending them so they can take the information back to your chapter.
Some of the topics include: Powerful Presentations, Planning Activities, Teamwork, Becoming a Leader, Marketing Your Chapter, Fundraising Tips and Tricks, Hosting Blood Drives, Parliamentary Procedure, Community Service, National Alliance for Mental Illness, Health Literacy Ambassador, Organ and Tissue Donation

How to Register for the Conference
Online Registration Instructions:
a. Go to the HOSA website at http://www.hosa.org/node/20 b. Select “Affiliate” under number 2.
c. On the next page, scroll to the bottom and select Local Advisor.
d. Type in your charter number and password.

e. Select the Conference Registration Option. e. You should see the HOSA Conference System Login. You will need to input your Charter Number and Password for a second time. f. Select the box labeled Utah HOSA Fall Conference.

g. At the bottom of the screen, click “Register Members” OR “Register Family/Guest/Others. h. If you register under Family/Guest/Others, the default setting is Chaperone. Please fill out the boxes with name, organization as the school chapter, title as their HOSA office or position, and their gender.
k. Be sure to click SAVE at the bottom right. l. Print an invoice. Found at the bottom of the screen. Please give this to your financial office. This check should be mailed to Utah HOSA at 487 West 300 South, Orem 84058. m. Log out on the top right.
