Pastor’s Message for the Month . . .

“On coming to the house, (the Magi) saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and

myrrh”. Matthew 2:11

On January 7. we will observe the Festival of the Epiphany of Our Lord. This day celebrates the Magi or Wise men coming to honor the Christ Child. The actual holiday occurs on January 6 and is sometimes called “Three Kings Day”. The Magi present the Christ Child with costly gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. We too need to give of our very selves to worship the child and honor him. As we begin this new year, let us resolve to give of ourselves fully to the one born for us. We can do that by regular participation in worship and Christian education. We can spend more time in prayer and in the study of God’s Word. We can make commitments to use our time, talent and treasure to further God’s work. Let us offer to the Lord our very selves even as the Wise Men gave him costly gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Yours in the Name of Jesus, Pastor Sorcek

Pastor and Ruby express their thanks to the members of the congregation for the prayers, cards and gifts over the Christmas holiday. Your expressions of care and support are greatly appreciated. May God richly bless you and your family in this new year.
