THE REPORT OF THE CULTURAL FIESTA PROTCOL/LOGISTICS SUB COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THE 22nd DAY OF JUNE 2015

ATTENDANCE:

AGREEMENT: We shared the groups according to the four cardinal zones as agreed by the general house as against our initial suggestion of the 6 geo political zones, and they are:

A.) WESTERN ZONE: The states under this zone are: EKITI, LAGOS, OGUN, ONDO, OSUN, & OYOB.) NORTH ZONE: The States under this zone are:

ADAMAWA,BAUCHI,BENUE,BORNO,GOMBE,JIGAWA,KADUNA, KANO,KATSINA,KEBBI,KOGI,KWARA, NASARAWA,NIGER,PLATEAU,SOKOTO,TARABA,YOBE,ZAMFARA,

C.) EASTERN ZONE: The states under this zone are: ABIA, ANAMBRA,EBONYI,ENUGU, IMOD.) SOUTH ZONE: The States under this Zone are: AKWA – IBOM, BAYELSA, CROSS RIVER, DELTA,

EDO, RIVERS.These zones will be responsible for the order which they wish to participate in the fiesta.However, we agreed that each of the zones will send five Representatives to our committee for them to help disseminate information to the zones.

2.) THEME FOR THE FIESTA: We were intimated that the general house finally agreed on “FESTIVAL OF UNITY” as the theme for the fiesta.

3.) DISPLAY/PERFORMANCE: We agreed that the display or performance by each of the groups will be incorporated into the march past; and must not exceed 10 minutes…

4.) CARDBOARD PLACEMENTS: We agreed that creation of awareness is within the function of the Publicity/Advert committee , and not that of the Protocol/Logistics.

5.) SIDE ATTRACTIONS: We reiterated that the Children will be part of the culture we are celebrating and this will help reawaken the waning dialect of the various Nigerian homes which is already giving way to English language among our Children….

6.) DRESS CODE: It was agreed that everyone to be present (PARISHIONERS AND INVITEES) must adorn their cultural attire.

7.) HIGHTABLE GUESTS: We agreed that each zone will present a male and female reps at the hightable. And some international communities members found in our community are to be duly represented too.

SUGGESTIONS:

1.) MEDIA: The Chairman suggested that WAZOBIA FM be consulted, and either of their workers; YAW or LOLO be invited to spice up the occasion.

2.) INVITATION: This will be based on the discretion of the general house.
