Getting to 2014: Role of the GRIs

» Pilot projects to discover the need for harmonization in NCs

» Moving ahead instead of waiting for a Europe-wide solution

The Role of GRI NW towards 2014How to proceed?

.Good results from this region in the past (transparency, DA Pilot, STC, investment)…

.…are not a guarantee for success in the future.

. Last years output has suffered as result of ‘competing’ work on EU-level

.Points to work on:

» Ensure broad stakeholder involvement» Be pro-active» Set an example for the other GRIs

The Role of GRI NW towards 2014In practice

.Three priorities

and Buy-back

» Regional Investment Planning• GRIPs, cross-border investments,

» Pilot testing• E.g. investigating need for market coupling in gas, regional

solution to gas quality issues,
