Stewardship & Evangelization ChristLife

Contact: Chuck Jansen

Contact number: 454-7173

2013 Achievements: The goal of ChristLife is to equip Catholics for the essential work of evangelization so that others might come to know personally the love of God through Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit, becoming his followers and members of the Church. There are three components within the ChristLife program — Discovering Christ, Following Christ, and Sharing Christ. Each component includes 7-10 lessons, including a retreat. The initial round of Following Christ sessions took place on Sunday and Thursday evenings in January and February; the initial round of Sharing Christ was in April and May. Sessions ran from 6:00 to 8:30 pm in the Parish Hall. Each evening consisted of dinner, prayer, worship music, a lesson, and small group discussion. Approximately 160 parishioners participated in the sessions. Childcare was offered during the Thursday evening sessions. Volunteer opportunities included serving on the dinner team, on the service team, as a table leader, as a worship leader, and as a childcare helper. A second series of ChristLife started in the fall. Approximately 15 people participated in Discovering Christ sessions on Sunday afternoons from 12:30 to 2:45 pm in August and September. After a short break, the group took part in the Following Christ sessions during October and November.

Approximately 10 adults and 2 teens participated in Living Your Strengths coaching for 2013. Strengths Coaching involves one or two one-on-one meetings with a strengths coach to help individuals better understand their top five natural talents, how to develop their top five themes into strengths and how to use these gifts to give one’s best to God.

Contact: 452-6021 Approximately 30 people attended our invitation for lunch and discussion on returning home to the Catholic Faith. We had a larger number than years past because 8 faithful people had invited someone back and they joined them for the lunch and discussion. This example of reaching out and offering support is key to helping Catholics return home. A four-week follow-up session was offered for those interested in learning more about the faith. After the four-week follow-up session, a few entered into the ChristLife Program.

In Conclusion…

Throughout 2013, we were blessed in so many ways. As individuals and as a parish family, we have so many reasons to be grateful to God for his wonderful love and blessings.

As a parish, we are grateful to our brothers and sisters in Christ who have so willingly shared their time and talent with all of us, and we invite everyone to look for opportunities to joyfully give back to God and share with others each day. We are grateful for all who have financially given part of their blessings as well, for they have helped make possible the many ministries and services St. Patrick Church provides.

For all the many blessings He has given us… thanks be to God!
