1st - was held at the ACS national meeting in Indianapolis in

September 2013

2nd - was held during the Pacifichem meeting in Dec 2015 in

Honolulu

“ACS international chapters are important components to our global

presence and have a unique opportunity to lead the transformation

of the global chemistry enterprise with high-impact innovative,

collaborative initiatives and to inspire the next generation of

chemists and related scientists,” 2015 ACS President Diane Grob

Schmidt.

In Honolulu the Asia-Pacific Interl Chapters (Subcomm 3)

discussed having a joint conference.

A-P International Chapters Conference Overview

• Multifaceted with opportunities for technical scientific presentations.

• Cater not only to ACS members and prospective members in the

region but also to members outside of the region who are interested.

• Intended to be an ongoing biennial event and potentially will be

hosted on a rotation basis in the ACS Chapter member countries.

• Provides opportunity for connecting the chapters in the region and

build stronger relationships between chapters and ACS members.

• Contribute to the technical scientific discourse in this region and be

up to date with the latest research.

• Assist in providing value to ACS members in this region.

• Increased visibility for ACS in the key strategic Asia Pacific region,

which aligns with IAC’s mission.
