Rankin County Chamber and the Governor’s Job Fair Network hosted a Job Fair on Wednesday, June 4th at the Clyde Muse Center.
The job fair featured 51 employers seeking employees with a range of education and experience levels. This free event was open to the public and military Veterans and their families were also encouraged to attend. More than 600 job seekers attended the job fair.
A big Rankin Chamber “THANK YOU” goes out to Adam Todd of the Governor’s Job Fair Network and his staff, the participating employers and our volunteers who helped make this year’s job fair a smashing success!

Leadership Rankin Applications now being accepted - Don’t miss this great opportunity!
Program Overview:The Leadership Rankin program, begun in 1994, provides current and future leaders a behind-the-scenes look at all aspects of Rankin County. The program begins with a mandatory overnight retreat in August and ends with graduation in May. Each month there is a full one-day session on topics including Education, Healthcare, Public Safety, State and Local Government, Agriculture and Diversity.
Eligibility:The program is open to individuals who have an interest in furthering their knowledge about Rankin County and community leadership and can commit to full participation in the program. Attendance is expected at all sessions.
Tuition:Tuition is $750 and participants are chosen through an application and selection process. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Mandi Arinder at (601) 825-2268 or email [email protected].

Chamber Quarterly LuncheonOn June 3rd, almost 170 guests attended the Rankin Chamber Quarterly Luncheon held at the Richland Community Center. We were honored to have Gov. Phil Bryant as our special guest speaker.
The chamber also used the occasion to introduce an exciting rebranding plan to increase the chamber’s visibility with a new logo and logo colors designed by The Cirlot Agency.

LEADERSHIP RANKIN A program of the Rankin County Chamber of Commerce
APPLICATION PROCEDURE 1. Applications for the Leadership Rankin Program are requested from individuals interested in participating.
2. Applications are reviewed and a committee selects participants. The number of participants is limited to approximately 24 in order to encourage maximum personal participation. Efforts are made to balance participants according to business, professions, geography, race, and sex.
3. Tuition for the program is $750 and must be paid by the opening retreat. Tuition covers the cost of the retreat, all class materials, refreshments, meals and the graduation luncheon for you and a guest.
4. Applications will be accepted through 4:00 pm Friday, July 11, 2014
5. Applications should be printed in ink or typed and should include as much information as possible.
6. By submitting an application to the program, the applicant is indicating his/her willingness and his/her ability to attend all sessions. Leadership Rankin begins with a skill building retreat at Twin Lakes Camp & Conference Center. In addition to the retreat, there will be a minimum of six monthly sessions each lasting a full day.
7. Applicants must submit at least two letters of recommendation with this application.
8. Participants, divided into teams, will be involved in a project to improve or enhance the quality of life in Rankin County. Participants must be willing to commit the necessary time to the project phase of the program. The schedule for the project work is determined by the participants.
9. Applicants must be a resident of Rankin County or work in Rankin County.
10. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
