Application & Enrollment Process Application
• Decisions are made on a rolling basis• We begin processing applications mid-September• 4-6 weeks for decision once all application materials have been received• Essays and recommendations are optional• Completed Application includes 3 items:
Online Application Official Standardized Test Scores from the College Board or ACT
We use Superscores! Official transcript that includes senior year classes

Two Ways To Apply COMMON APPLICATION WVU APPLICATION
Academic Requirements 4 units of English (including grammar, composition, and
literature) 4 units of college preparatory mathematics (Alg 1,
Geometry, and Alg. 2 plus a 4th college prep math—do not accept finance, accounting, or computer science)
3 units of social studies (including U.S. History) 3 units of science (ALL units must be laboratory science) 2 units of a foreign language, must be the same language.
American Sign Language is acceptable for this requirement 1 unit of fine arts – Recommended units include: Music,
Band, Art, Theater, Dance, Drama, and Performance
Scholarships & Financial Aid Automatic Admissions Scholarships
Awarded to West Virginia Residents and Out of State Students• 1030 SAT/22 ACT score or higher• WVU does Superscore • WVU does not require the writing portion of the ACT or SAT
Other West Virginia Resident Scholarships• Can be found on our scholarship website• You can work closely with your admissions counselor to learn more!• WV state scholarships do not Superscore (example: Promise)
Departmental Scholarships• The College of Engineering, Eberly College of Arts and Sciences & the
College of Business have specific merit requirements• Most other departments have scholarships to offer but they are very
competitive and students are carefully selected Financial Aid
• Submit the FAFSA in Late January/Early February; No later than March 1st
• Request that your FASFA information is sent to WVU• Your Financial Aid Package will be sent to you at the end of March
through April
Honors CollegeApplication Process
Honors College will automatically contact if you meet the requirements
A letter will be sent to you in the mail a week after you have been admitted
Directions about the statement of intent will be included in the letter
Acceptance letters will be mailed after review of the statement of intent
Requirements 3.8 GPA with an ACT 25 or
1140 SAT 3.6 GPA with an ACT 26 1180
SAT 3.5 GPA with an ACT 28 or a
