These Championships are the result of commitment and lots of hard work by many people for many months. The message we can all take from these events is the pride, teamwork and sportsmanship that these athletes and coaches have demonstrated along the way. Please remember that sportsmanship and citizenship are the ultimate goals of our ringette programs, whether it is at practice or during competition. I encourage you to do your part by cheering on all participants and thanking officials and volunteers at this provincial championship event. By doing so, you are contributing to a wholesome event that is fun for everyone involved –athletes, officials, coaches and fans. A special thank you goes to the host committee and volunteers for making the time to organize this event for our athletes. We are proud to have associations, such as this one, be a part of the ringette community. Well done! Thanks to the sponsors that have stepped forward to be part of this weekend. Your contributions are much appreciated. I would also like to recognize the Alberta Sport Connection. Without the foundations financial support many of our programs and services would not be available. Welcome!On behalf of Strathmore Minor Ringette Association I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all the athletes, coaches, officials and fans to the 2016 U14A Provincial Championship. Congratulations to all the athletes and team staff members on the accomplishments that have brought you to this point.
Thank you to the Athletes. You should be proud of the skill, determination, commitment and sheer love for this wonderful sport of ringette.
I would like to also thank the coaches and team staff who assist in countless ways both on and off the ice. Your devotion has not gone unnoticed and is cherished by all who are here this weekend. Additionally, a big thank you to the parents who have dedicated so much time and effort getting their athletes to tryouts, practice, games, team events, tournaments, playoffs, and finally a Provincial Championship.
Lastly, I would like to thank our volunteers and sponsors who continue to support rin-gette in our community, and have graciously donated to the success of this event.
We look forward to the next three days and witnessing your hard work throughout the season paying off while carrying with you SMRA’s values of Fun, Friendship, Fitness and Fairplay.
