BIOGRAPHY: Henry M. Sobell completed his studies at Brooklyn Technical High School (1948-1952),

Columbia College (1952-1956), and the University of Virginia School of Medicine (1956-

1960). Instead of practicing clinical edicine, he then went to the Massachusetts Institute of

Technology (MIT) to join Professor Alexander Rich in the Departent of Biology (1960-

1965), where, as a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow, he learned the technique of

single crystal X-ray analysis. He then joined the Chemistry Department at the University

of Rochester, having been subsequently jointly appointed to both the Chemistry and

Molecular Biophysics departments (the latter at the University of Rochester School of

Medicine and Dentistry), becoming a full tenured Professor in both departments (1965-

1993). He is now retired and living in the Adirondacks in New York, USA.

universities in Europe, USA and Japan and at international conferences in ethology,

Vaios Nikolopoulos is a Biologist MSc and as a PhD candidate, has

his expertise in molecular biology and diagnostics. His passion is to combine more aspects and functions of molecules and their pathways

in order to see the big picture in a pathologic state either this is a

cancerous process or diabetes etc. Currently he is working in protein purification and ligand binding studies while studying crystallography

and also elaborates with other colleagues in various clinical studies.

BIOGRAPHY: Marlena Winter completed her Bachelor´s degree in biology from Freie Universität

Berlin in 2014 and her Master´s degree in animal ecology from Georg-August-

University Göttingen in 2016. Afterwards, she worked in the animal ecology group as a

research assistant until starting her doctoral studies at the Universität Hamburg in 2017.

Presently, she is phD student in the molecular evolutionary biology group investigating

based on Artificial Neural Networks for the last 18 years. He has 145 journal papers and 5 patents in this area. After a PhD (UN funded) and a Post Doc

modelling environmental interactions with ANNs at NTU, in 2000 he shifted the

focus of his analysis to proteomic and transcriptomic data; searching for proteins and genes associated with cancer. His current research interests are directed at the

use of machine learning techniques for the identification of biomarker panels,

pathway motifs and molecular drivers characterizing biological systems These include areas such as microbial pathogen host response, drivers and

characteristics of hallmarks of cancer, drivers of Alzheimer’s disease and

diagnostics of latent tuberculosis.

from the Tatung Institute of Technology in 1989, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees Computer

Science and Information Engineering from the University of Chung Cheng in 1993 and 2002

respectively. He has been with Asia University since spring 2003, where he is currently an

associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, and

also holds a joint appointment with the Department of Bioinformatics and Medical

BIOGRAPHY: Saranyoo Ponnikorn had completed his PhD in Biochemistry from Mahidol University

Faculty of Science in 2011. He is lecturer in medical school and member of administrative staff as assistant to the Dean in academic affairs and medical education from Chulabhorn

International College of Medicine, Thammasat University. Morover, he also works with

private companies including Next Generation Genomics and Safe Fertility and PGD Center as clinical labolatory supervisor in genetic diagnosis since 2013. His research is

mainly focusing on the signaling pathway of stem cell and disease development such as

thalassemia and some skin disorder using proteomic strategies. He is also interested in the application of Thai herbal medicine and drug discovery under in vitro stem cell model and

CODE), University Sultan Zainal Abidin. He has published more than 72 papers

in reputed journals and awarded 9 Gold medals from the national level products

innovation competitions. He has completed many students Ph.D. and M.Sc

students supervision and as well as has been serving as an editorial board member

of repute.

where he worked in the Laboratories of Dr K.A. Watson and Prof I.M. Jones. He was a

Facility user at the Membrane Protein Laboratory (MPL) and Oxford Protein Production Facility (OPPF), both in Diamond Light Source, Harwell, United Kingdom, between 2012-

2013. Dr Atanu is currently a Lecturer/Research Scientist at the Department of Biochemistry, Kogi State University, Nigeria. Dr Atanu's honours and awards includes but not limited to

TETFund to undertake overseas Phd program, Faculty and Departmental Prices for academic

excellence. He is a member of local and international professional societies. He has co-authored peer reviewed journal articles published locally and internationally. Dr Atanu's

current researches focuses on biophysical characterisation of proteins, structure-function

characterisation of proteins, functional characterisation of phytochemicals used in management of human metabolic diseases and protozoal diseases, investigation of

biochemical mechanisms underlying toxicity of drugs and environmental toxicants.

thesis in Egypt and with International collaborators as well .She has organised many

workshops & participated in national & international proteomics conferences. Her main aim

is to introduce Proteomics science to Egyptian scientific community & to cooperate &

network with different international proteomics groups. She has published more than 22

papers in reputed journals.

Biography: Sudarshan Kumar is working as scientist at National Dairy Research Institute Karnal,

India. He works on Mammary Gland Proteomics to identify the putative biomarkers for lactation related disorders in bovine. His lab uses high end nano-LC MS/MS TOF

platform and TQD for protein biomarker discovery and validation. The economically

important genes are cloned, expressed and purified from prokaryotic and eukaryotic host systems which are subjected to cell culture based functional characterization for

their application as therapeutics or diagnostics.

Biography: Ashish Shah is working in the area of insilico drug designing and synthetic medicinal

chemistry since last five years. He is pursuing research in the field of new molecule development for cancer disease since last three years. He has also published review as

well as research article relevant to his expertise. He has also presented poster on

insilico drug design in various national and international conferences.

Biography: Ajey Kumar Pathak has completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information

Technology from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture and Technology, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India and postdgraduate studies in Computer Science from

Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, a premier Fish
