Test, Assessment or Exam
From Wikipedia:
“A test or an examination (or "exam") is an assessment intended to measure a test-taker's knowledge, skill, aptitude, physical fitness, or classification in many other topics (e.g., beliefs). A test may be administered orally, on paper, on a computer, or in a confined area that requires a test taker to physically perform a set of skills.”

Wikipedia again:
“Educational assessment is the process of documenting, usually in measurable terms, knowledge, skills, attitudes and beliefs. Assessment can focus on the individual learner, the learning community (class, workshop, or other organized group of learners), the institution, or the educational system as a whole.' in other parts of the world.
A test paper is the equivalent of a test/asessment/exam. Here's a example of a test-paper site.

The term is also used to denote a brief assessment.
Usage more common in education than in corporate environments.
Etymologically speaking, different sources cite different dates as to when the word first appeared (1700's) and its meaning quite different than what you might imagine.
