MAP Testing Instructions

1. On the district home page, click on

resources.

2. Click the link to our testing site

under staff resources.

3. Log on to our MAP testing site with the username and password provided to you in the email from NWEA.

4. On the Home page, Click Manage

5. If you have created your own test

sessions, scroll down to see them

in the Saved Testing Sessions list.

Go on to Step 7.

If you have not created

testing sessions, they have

been created for you. Go to

Step 6 to find them.

6. Under Saved testing sessions,

type the first three letters of

your last name in the box, and

click the Testing Session

Name link above the box.

You should now see a list of saved testing sessions that use your last name, or the first few letters of

your last name. (For the primary grades, we tried to keep the names as simple as possible, since the

kids have to type that name in. For example: law1 for Lawlor’s first grade class.) For the primary

grades, a test with a 1 in it is reading, and 2 is math. For the intermediate grades, tests are coded

R=Reading, M=Math and LA= Language Arts. Junior High is separated by subjects already, so your

tests are coded by period, i.e. Wagner Per1.

7. Fill in the button next to

the test you are going to

give today, then click

the TEST NOW button

8. You are now in the

testing session, and can

follow the directions in

your proctor guide for

administering the test.

9. Don’t forget to press the

END TESTING SESSION

button once your

students have completed

their tests.

Actions during the testing session:

Confirm Now: Confirms all students ready to be confirmed so they can begin testing. Available

when one or more student tests have the status To Be Confirmed.

End Testing Session: The End Testing Session dialog box appears. Closing or deleting a testing

session does not affect test results. Students can resume incomplete tests in the same or another

testing session.

� Test status of all student tests must be one of the following before you can end a testing

session: Complete, Suspended, Terminated, or Awaiting Student.

� To save the testing session, type a unique name and then click Save and Exit.

� To close the testing session without saving it, click Delete Session. The testing session is

discarded and the Manage Testing Sessions page appears. If you want to access the current testing session later, you must save it.

Add More Students:The Set Up Testing page appears. Search for students to add to the current

testing session and then click Save and Return to Testing.

Create Student: The Manage Testing Sessions - Student Profile page appears. Add a student profile

to the MAP system to allow the student to take a test.

Select Status: Selects students' test status to perform an action.

Action

Go: Performs the selected action (in the Action drop-down list) on selected student tests.

Assign Test(s): The Select Test dialog box appears. Select a test and assign it to the students

selected in the list of students on the Test Students page.

Assign Accommodations: Opens a selection of allowable accommodations you can provide the

student during testing. For record-keeping, click which ones you are providing.

Remove Student(s): Removes selected students from the testing session. You can test students

even if you do not remove absent students or students who do not take a test in the testing session

for any reason. This action does not remove student profiles from the MAP system.
