Christian Israelite Church

23rd June 2019

Christ is Risen How can it be, the One who died,

Has borne our sin through sacrifice

To conquer every sting of death?

Sing, sing hallelujah.

For joy awakes as dawning light

When Christ's disciples lift their eyes.

Alive He stands, their Friend and King;

Christ, Christ He is risen.

Chorus

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!

Oh, sing hallelujah.

Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed;

Christ is risen, He is risen indeed.

Where doubt and darkness once had been,

They saw Him and their hearts believed.

But blessed are those who have not seen,

Yet sing hallelujah.

Once bound by fear now bold in faith,

They preached the truth and power of grace.

And pouring out their lives they gained

Life, life everlasting.

[Chorus]

The power that raised Him from the grave

Now works in us to powerfully save.

He frees our hearts to live His grace;

Go tell of His goodness.

[Chorus]

He's alive, He's alive!

Heaven's gates are opened wide.

He's alive, He's alive!

Now in heaven glorified

Faith

I'm reaching for the prize, I'm giving

everything

I give my life for this; it's what I live for

Nothing can keep me from all that You

have for me

You hold my head up high; I live for You

Greater is He that's living in me

Than he that is in the world

Faith, I can move the mountain

I can do all things through Christ, I know

Faith, standing and believing

I can do all things through Christ who

strengthens me

10,000 Reasons Chorus

Bless the Lord O my soul

O my soul

Worship His Holy name

Sing like never before

O my soul

I’ll worship Your Holy name

The sun comes up

It’s a new day dawning

It’s time to sing Your song again

Whatever may pass

And whatever lies before me

Let me be singing

When the evening comes

[Chorus]

You’re rich in love

And You’re slow to anger

Your name is great

And Your heart is kind

For all Your goodness

I will keep on singing

Ten thousand reasons

For my heart to find [Chorus] And on that day

When my strength is failing

The end draws near

And my time has come

Still my soul will

Sing Your praise unending

Ten thousand years

And then forevermore [Chorus]

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in

earth.

Give us day by day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins; for we also

forgive every one that is indebted to us.

And lead us not into temptation; but

deliver us from evil.

Luke 11: 2-4

Hosea

Hosea – “Salvation”

“the broken-hearted prophet”

Ministry – 785bc - 725bc

• First book of the 12 minor prophets

• Longest of these books

• Father was Beeri

• Mostly focused on Israel (nth kingdom)

Hosea Chapter-1

The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea,

the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah,

Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah,

and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash,

king of Israel.

2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by

Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take

unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children

of whoredoms: for the land hath committed

great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

Uzziah 810 – 758 BC

Jotham 758 – 742 BC

Ahaz 742 - 726 BC

Hezekiah 726 – 698 BC

Jeroboam II 825 - 784

3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of

Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a

son.

4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his name

Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will

avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of

Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of

the house of Israel.

5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I

will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of

Jezreel.

Jezreel – “God Scatters”

2 Kings 10:30-31 30 And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast

done well in executing that which is right in mine

eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab

according to all that was in mine heart, thy

children of the fourth generation shall sit on the

throne of Israel. 31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the

LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he

departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which

made Israel to sin.

6 And she conceived again, and bare a

daughter. And God said unto him, Call her

name Loruhamah: for I will no more have

mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will

utterly take them away.

7 But I will have mercy upon the house of

Judah, and will save them by the LORD their

God, and will not save them by bow, nor by

sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by

horsemen.

8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she

conceived, and bare a son.

9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for

ye are not my people, and I will not be your

God.

Loruhamah – “Not to be pitied”

Loammi – “Not my people”

• 721BC End of the northern Kingdom “Israel”

2 Kings 19:29-35

• the failure of Sennacherib to conquer

Jerusalem 34 “For I will defend this city, to save it, for mine

own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.”

and yet for all this….

10 Yet the number of the children of Israel

shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot

be measured nor numbered; and it shall come

to pass, that in the place where it was said

unto them, Ye are not my people, there it

shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of

the living God.

11 Then shall the children of Judah and the

children of Israel be gathered together, and

appoint themselves one head, and they shall

come up out of the land: for great shall be the

day of Jezreel.

Romans 8:14-16 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they

are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage

again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of

adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit,

that we are the children of God:

Isaiah 11:10-12

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which

shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall

the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the

Lord shall set his hand again the second time to

recover the remnant of his people, which shall be

left, …. 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and

shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather

together the dispersed of Judah from the four

corners of the earth.

Hymn 100

I am the true and living bread,

Christ Jesus in the gospel said,

To nourish Isr’el day by day,

While walking in the good old way.

Christ Jesus trod that narrow path

Which leads man out from dreaded death,

Which to the anointed was revealed,

To be possess’d when Isr’el’s sealed.

Still Isr’el feed, that they may grow

In grace and stature here below,

Till to thy fullness they attain,

And in that glorious state remain.

Heirs of their God, and joint-heirs made

With Jesus Christ, the living Head;

Immortal life receiv’d from thee,

Who art the true and Living Tree.

Psalm 116:1-8

I love the Lord, because he hath heard my

voice and my supplications. 2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me,

therefore will I call upon him as long as I

live. 3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and

the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found

trouble and sorrow. 4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O

Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. 5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea,

our God is merciful. 6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was

brought low, and he helped me. 7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the

Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. 8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death,

mine eyes from tears, and my feet from

falling.

Lord of Lords Beholding Your beauty is all that I long for

To worship You Jesus is my sole desire

For this very heart

You have shaped for your pleasure

Purposed to lift Your Name higher

Here in surrender in pure adoration

I enter Your courts with an offering of praise

I am Your servant come to bring You glory

As is fit for the work of Your hands

Chorus

Now unto the Lamb who sits on the throne

Be glory and honour and praise

All of creation resounds with the song

Worship and praise Him

The Lord of lords

Spirit now living and dwelling now with me

Keep my eyes fixed ever on Jesus' face

Let not the things of this world ever sway me

I'll run 'til I finish the race

[chorus]

Holy Lord You are holy

Jesus Christ is the Lord
