GETTING READY FOR 2021 HANWOOD PUBLIC SCHOOL IS CURRENTLY TAKING ENROLMENTS FOR 2021 We are beginning our preparations for Kindergarten 2021. If you have a child (or know of a child) who is commencing Kindergarten next year and are intending to enrol at our school, please come to the office as soon as possible to get an enrolment form. Our orientation program will begin EARLY IN Term 4 (TBC). More information will be provided at a later date. Term 3 Week 8 Date: Thursday 10th September 2020 Hanwood Public School School St, Hanwood, NSW, 2680 Tel: (02) 6963 0297 Email: [email protected] Web page: www.hanwood-p.schools.nsw.edu.au GENTLE REMINDERS Student supplies Many of our students (especially from Year 5 and 6) are not bringing in basic supplies such as pencils, red, blue and black pens, erasers, rulers, pencil cases and glue to school. Parents can you please ensure all supplies come to school daily? It is your childs responsibility to ensure they pack their bags every day with everything they need to undertake their learning. The only students who do not need to bring anything to school in regards to basic supplies, are the Kindergarten students. The school provides for them for the whole year. Lollies and lollipops It has come to my attention that the younger students (from Kindergarten to Year 4) are bringing and sharing lollies and lollipops at school on a very regular basis. We do not encourage students bringing sweets such as these to school. We cannot control the students sharing food whilst in the playground. We certainly do not want a student to inadvertently receive a food that parents either do not approve of, or the student to potentially have an allergic reaction to. Can you please speak to your children as a matter of urgency in regards to both matters? Your support on these issues would be greatly appreciated. Drink bottles Many students are coming to the office asking for cups as they have forgotten their drink bottles. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the students are not permitted to drink directly from the bubblers at this time. They can however refill their water bottles. Cups cannot be provided to the students as it is now a constant request. PLEASE ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle to school daily.

    WINNER OF GUESSING COMPETITION

Congratulations to Nell Wadsworth in 5/6A. Nell is the winner of our SRC guessing competition. Nell guesses 117 lollies. The actual amount was 118, which no-one guessed. The money raised will go towards new colourful seats in the Year 6 domain. Thank you to all the students who participated in this competition and for supporting the SRC fundraising events.
