Father’s Day Breakfast, Thursday 29 August I look forward to sharing a hot pie or quiche with Asquith families next Thursday, 29 August. Our fabulous P&C have coordinated a Father’s Day breakfast with pies and quiches from Bite Me Bakehouse This is a great way to spend some time with your children, celebrating family and in particular our dads! Don’t forget to place your order by 10pm Sunday, 25 August on https://www.trybooking.com/537095. Bogan Bingo, Saturday, 7 September Another great event organised by our P&C! Time to bring out your inner bogan and ‘groove’ to some Bon

Jovi, Foreigner, Duran Duran, Madonna, Wham…and many more. Tickets are on sale now – purchase them

today at https://www.trybooking.com/BDSZW.

Gather some friends and family and put together your own table, or come along to meet some new friends

from Asquith PS.

The school needs your help One of my highlights at Asquith Public School has been the strong connections we have between school and home. The P&C are major players in this collaboration by organising and supporting many whole school community events. To ensure these can continue and flourish, please consider speaking to a P&C member or your class parents to offer your support. It can be as simple as helping to serve pies at the Father’s Day Breakfast, or a more ongoing commitment where you come along to the P&C meetings and contribute to

making Asquith an even greater place to learn. School Infrastructure NSW Workshop 1 was held on Tuesday afternoon to mark the beginning of the consultative and planning phase for a possible refurbishment/rebuild of the school site. As we are currently in the pre-planning phase, we remain mindful that this does not guarantee that the project will come to fruition. However, Tuesday afternoon was a great opportunity for a broad representation across the school to come together and discuss what makes Asquith PS such a great place to learn, and what we would like this to look like for the future learning of our students. The workshop group consisted of teachers across all stages of the school and representation from the Library, Support Class Unit, EALD and Learning Support. It also included parent representation. Thank you to Robert Peacock, Amanda Kingsmill and Peter List. Lee-Ann Newson was there to represent OOSH. It is anticipated that this phase will culminate in a design plan ready for submission by January 2020. The next Working Group will be held on Tuesday, 10 September. We will continue to update the school community as information comes to hand.
