Term 2 Week 2 : Friday 18th January 2019 www.carlton-in-snaith.n-yorks.sch.uk I hope this bullen finds you well. Thanks as always for your support of our school. This week has been a busy and producve week. I personally have enjoyed celebrang in assembly with the children who last term were goldthroughout that period. I have also really enjoyed being in class with Elm, Beech and Pine classes this week. Key Informaon: Welcome to the new children and families who have joined us this week. It is great for school that as people are moving into the Carlton Green development they are extremely keen to have their children come to our school. This term we have now had 6 pupils join us, 4 in Recepon - Oak class alone! A warm welcome to you all! Homework feedback. Thank you so much to all of the parents who took the me to respond to our short homework survey link. We really appreciated the informave feedback. Very shortly we will be issuing our new homework guidance and expectaons that will fully incorporate your valued feedback. Clubs: Staff have been signing up to facilitate a range of clubs. More informaon will follow about this early next week. SEND meengs: In the next 5 weeks, all parents of children with SEND (Special Educaonal Needs and Disabilies) will be asked to have a short meeng with their childs class teacher and where appropriate, other staff, to discuss needs and short term targets. We see this as a really useful and collaborave way of supporng the pupils. We look forward to working with you on this important aspect. Carlton Owls - breakfast club: Reminder that places are available to join our Breakfast Club provision. Mrs Chivertons Carlton Owls are a happy and welcoming bunch! Morning provision is in place from 7.45am unl 8.50am, for the start of school, with breakfast being provided at the club. Please contact the school office for further informaon. Reminder re Uniform: Please ensure that all uniform is named. We have far too much lost property (including single shoes!) regularly leſt in school. We cannot return it if it is not labelled. Please help us to help you! Any unnamed unclaimed lost property leſt in school will be recycled on Wednesday 23rd January so please check and reclaim anything belonging to your child. Reminder re dogs/animals: pets should not be brought onto school property without prior arrangement (e.g. for an organised visit). I would be most grateful if you could ensure that ample space is made around the gates for children to access school without geng too close to any dogs. Class school lunch days: As you were aware we had originally planned in across the year a lunch for each class where family members would be invited into school to share a hot meal with the children. Obviously due to the sad circumstances we all experienced last term with Mrs Thompson passing, this was postponed. It is my plan that moving forward, we will look to reschedule these dates once we are able to. We will confirm any such dates with you. Thanks for your understanding with this maer. Have a great weekend – wrap up warm! Kind regards Jon Watson Head teacher

I hope this bulletin finds you well. Thanks as always for your support of our school.

This week has been a busy and productive week. I personally have enjoyed celebrating in assembly with the

children who last term were ‘gold’ throughout that period. I have also really enjoyed being in class with Elm, Beech

and Pine classes this week.

Key Information:

Welcome to the new children and families who have joined us this week. It is great for school that as people

are moving into the Carlton Green development they are extremely keen to have their children come to our

school. This term we have now had 6 pupils join us, 4 in Reception - Oak class alone! A warm welcome to

you all!

Homework feedback. Thank you so much to all of the parents who took the time to respond to our short

homework survey link. We really appreciated the informative feedback. Very shortly we will be issuing our

new homework guidance and expectations that will fully incorporate your valued feedback.

Clubs: Staff have been signing up to facilitate a range of clubs. More information will follow about this early

next week.

SEND meetings: In the next 5 weeks, all parents of children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and

Disabilities) will be asked to have a short meeting with their child’s class teacher and where appropriate,

other staff, to discuss needs and short term targets. We see this as a really useful and collaborative way of

supporting the pupils. We look forward to working with you on this important aspect.

Carlton Owls - breakfast club: Reminder that places are available to join our Breakfast Club provision. Mrs

Chiverton’s Carlton Owls are a happy and welcoming bunch! Morning provision is in place from 7.45am until

8.50am, for the start of school, with breakfast being provided at the club. Please contact the school office

for further information.

Reminder re Uniform: Please ensure that all uniform is named. We have far too much lost property

(including single shoes!) regularly left in school. We cannot return it if it is not labelled. Please help us to help

you! Any unnamed unclaimed lost property left in school will be recycled on Wednesday 23rd January so

please check and reclaim anything belonging to your child.

Reminder re dogs/animals: pets should not be brought onto school property without prior arrangement (e.g.

for an organised visit). I would be most grateful if you could ensure that ample space is made around the

gates for children to access school without getting too close to any dogs.

Class school lunch days: As you were aware we had originally planned in across the year a lunch for each

class where family members would be invited into school to share a hot meal with the children. Obviously

due to the sad circumstances we all experienced last term with Mrs Thompson passing, this was postponed.

It is my plan that moving forward, we will look to reschedule these dates once we are able to. We will

confirm any such dates with you. Thanks for your understanding with this matter.

Have a great weekend – wrap up warm!
