CELEBRATING FRANKLIN!

Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 Excursion ‘Tumut Museum & Tumut Library’

All K-2 students will be heading off to Tumut Museum & Tumut Library on Friday 11th June 2021 to learn about Tumut’s history and to see the ‘How To’ exhibit at our local Tumut Library. We will be departing school by bus at staggered times throughout the morning starting from 9:20 am and returning to school by 12pm. Lunch orders will be allocated per class on arrival to school. What do students bring to the excursion? A drink bottle,

fruit-break, hat, comfortable walking shoes. Students will

need to wear full school uniform including a school

hat on this day.

The cost of this excursion, both transport and admission to the museum, is covered by Franklin Cover.

Franklin Athletics Carnival is on this Friday at the Bull Paddock.

Franklin Canteen will be offering LIMITED lunch orders for this day for all students both at the Bull Paddock AND at school.

Franklin Netball PSSA Knockout

Last Friday Franklin Senior Girls Netball Team

played against Young Public School in the PSSA

Netball Knockout at the Tumut Netball Courts.

The weather was cold but sunny and our students

played very well.

Franklin defeated Young 15-9, so our girls will

now progress to the next round of the knockout.

A big thank you to those parents who helped

with transport down to the courts and then back

to school. Thank you to Melissa and Ella

Bradshaw who were our umpires for the game

and thanks also to Ms Gould who coordinates

and coaches our netball teams.

Reminder that the Schools Cup Netball Gala Day is on THIS Wednesday at the Tumut Netball Courts and

Franklin will be participating in this sporting event as well. Students are to make their own way to the

courts by 9am and can either go home with a parent after the Gala Day is finished or come back to school

and go home their usual way.

Mortimer Shield

Franklin Public School ventured to Twickenham Oval on Tuesday, May 18th for the annual Mortimer Shield Rugby League Gala Day. Franklin were represented positively by our Boys and Girls teams enjoying a beautiful day.

The Boys team had 4 games over the day with plenty of tries scored but the most impressive part of the day was that they only conceded one try. The Boys go on to the Mortimer Shield Wagga finals held on Tuesday, June 22nd (Week 10, Term 2).

The Girls team, led by Miss Gould, also played 4 games. The Girls played fantastically, scoring multiple tries and making desperate try-saving tags. Unfortunately, the Girls were unlucky in not progressing to the next round but most certainly left everything out on the field.

Miss Gould and Mr Mastellotto both wanted to congratulate the students on their outstanding behaviour and positive representation of Franklin Public School.
