The speaker for the 2nd Annual Sweet Memorial Lecture will be Rabbi Martin A. Cohen. Rabbi Cohen has been on the faculty of the Hebrew Union College since 1960 and is a recognized authority on Jewish history. Dr. Cohen has also served as a visiting professor at a number of prestigious universities. Despite his many professional duties and productive scholarly career, Dr. Cohen has also been actively involved in many organizations , including the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods and the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai Brith. One of Dr. Cohen's special areas of expertise is the history of the Spanish Jewish Community, which will be the subject of his presentation at Temple Beth-El. We are privileged to have Rabbi Cohen visit our congregation, and we are certain that you will want to be present to hear his lecture. The "Irving and Minerva Sweet Memorial Lecture" was establ'i'&hed by Mr. andM'rs. David Sweet in loving tribute to David's parents, who were active members of our congregation.
