TEFAF Art Symposium / Private goes PublicThe annual TEFAF Art Symposium
will be held on Friday 13 March
from 9.30 — 11.30 am at the MECC in
Maastricht. Private goes Public looks
at what moves private and institutional
collectors to share their collections
with the public and what motivates
these individuals and companies to
start collecting in the first place.

TEFAF Museum Restoration FundEach year the Executive Committee
of TEFAF invites museums that have
attended TEFAF Maastricht in that
year to apply for a grant from the
TEFAF Museum Restoration Fund.
A maximum of € 50,000 is awarded
to one or two museums towards the
funding of a restoration project. An
independent panel of experts decides
the recipients of the grant each year.

TEFAF Paper includes fine prints
and drawings ranging from the
15th century to the present day,
antiquarian books and manuscripts,
Japanese prints, paintings and

photographs from the 19th century

Teyler’s Legacy is a special exhibition
of twenty-eight remarkable drawings
from the renaissance to the 21st century
from Teylers Museum in Haarlem,
which first opened to the public in
1784 and is the oldest museum in
The Netherlands. Highlights from
the exhibition include works by
Michelangelo (1475-1564), Hendrick
Goltzius (1558-1617) and Rembrandt
Harmensz. van Rijn (1606-1669).
These 15th -, 16th - and 17th -century
works will be contrasted with
drawings by contemporary European
artists like Guiseppe Penone, Marlene
Dumas and Pavel Pepperstein.

The TEFAF Classical Antiquities
section is a veritable treasure
trove. The past is brought to life by
examples of Greek pottery, Roman
statuary and Egyptian mummy masks,

to be found in different sections of

of twenty-eight remarkable drawings

1784 and is the oldest museum in

the exhibition include works by
Michelangelo (1475-1564), Hendrick
Goltzius (1558-1617) and Rembrandt
Harmensz. van Rijn (1606-1669).
These 15th -, 16th - and 17th -century
works will be contrasted with
drawings by contemporary European
artists like Guiseppe Penone, Marlene
Dumas and Pavel Pepperstein.
