All applicants must adhere to the following Training policies and procedures: 1. All applications for a training class must be received at least 30 days in advance of the course start dates. 2. All applicants must submit a Training Request Form. 3. The Training Request Forms must be completed and approved in advance by the KMMI Training Department. 4. All applicants must meet all of the course prerequisites and requirements. 5. Applicants may be required to successfully complete a telephone pre-screening interview or written Pre-test. 6. Accepted applicants will be notified by the KMMI Training Department. 7. Class space is limited and acceptance will be determined by KMMI criteria as stated in course syllabus. 8. Transportation, lodging, and meals expenses are the responsibility of the attendee. KMMI will provide lunch each training day. 9. The course fee includes a copy of the equipment documentation, service manuals or books, and initial maintenance software as required and listed for each course. 10. Students must adhere to the KMMI Code of Conduct while attending KMMI courses, lectures, or seminars. 11. Course hours are from 8:30am to 5pm. Please make travel plans AFTER 7pm on the last day of class. 12. All course dates are subject to change and may be changed with 5 business days advance notice; this includes course cancellations. 13. Course content is subject to change without notice. 14. All students must submit a P.O./Credit Card for tuition before attending the course. 15. All tuition will be billed the month that the course is scheduled to run. 16. Cancellation fee schedule*:
30 Days Prior to Class start: Full Refund
29—15 Days Prior: 75% Refund
14—7 Days Prior: 25% Refund
6—0 Days Prior: No Refund *Classes can be re-scheduled without penalty for any course enrolled. After the first re-schedule, the student will be charged an administration fee. 17. If a student is asked to leave a course due to performance or conduct issues, KMMI will not refund any portion of the tuition. 18. For courses with testing: Certificates will not be issued for any students who do not pass the
course. In addition, students may be asked to leave the course at the instructor’s
recommendation at any time during the class.

General Student Information: Hours of Operation: The training center opens at 8:30AM and closes at 5:00PM. Security: On Monday please sign in with the Receptionist at the front desk. You will receive your security tag for the week. You are required to sign in and out every day for the duration of the training. In addition all students are restricted to the training area of the building. Telephones: No outside Phone service is provided at this time. Please turn off your cell phones and pagers while in class. However you may use your cell phone in the break room. Internet Access: Due to the security policy of our network administrator, students will not have access to the internet. Break / Lunch Room: The Break-lunchroom is in the training center. Limited access to the Coin operated soda and snack vending machines, microwave, toaster and Refrigerator are available by escort only. Complementary Lunch will be served Monday – Friday. Regius 350, 370, and Flex DR direct digitizers All Candidates for training must meet or exceed the requirements as listed and detailed in this document. These requirements and prerequisites are designed to ensure that the candidate can complete our courses and will exhibit our stated competencies when servicing our equipment line. Computer & Network Related Core Competencies Training Candidates Must Have:
Strong Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP operating systems knowledge
Working understanding on network topologies and protocols, especially Ethernet 802.3, routers, hubs, switches, TCP/IP and 10/100/1000 Base-T systems
Strong network [troubleshooting] skills in connecting to TCP/IP networked computer systems, using Tel-net, FTP, and Windows Network.
Basic knowledge and / or previous experience with DICOM protocol and PACS systems.
All students may be required to pass a PC / Networking / DICOM basic skills assessment test on the first day of class. If the student cannot pass this testing and they cannot demonstrate proficiency [by the final day of training] in these areas the student will not PASS the equipment course they are attending.
At Least 6-months digital [modality] medical imaging experience
Working knowledge of test equipment: DVM, logic probes and others standardized test equipment [which varies by equipment line]
Basic understanding of X-Ray Imaging principals
Basic understanding of X-Ray Image quality and determinants
Basic understanding of Modality imaging: Analog and Digital video signals
Previous experience on modality interfacing, especially analog Video systems
Basic understanding in Safety Standards and Protocols: Hazardous Energy – Electrical Safety, Laser Energy Safety, and Radiation Safety.
Modality imaging experience in CR/PACS.

Equipment/Tools the Candidate Must Have: Each student must supply their own X-Ray film safety badges - No student will be allowed to
work in or near any X-Ray devices without their badge.
Laptop Computer with: Please note PC technology changes quickly contact KMMI for the latest PC Specifications
Pentium III or higher is required
1 GB RAM or higher
10 GB free Hard Disk Drive space (minimum)
DVD-CD-R/W Drive; must be able to burn CD’s and read DVD’s
RS-232C Serial Communications Port - DB9 or USB to Serial Converter
Ethernet Card with 10/100/1000 Base-T connection
The student must have administrator rights and be able to set up new users on their laptops
With one of the following Operating Systems:
Windows XP Professional with latest supported Service Packs
Please note Windows Vista/7 may not work with Konica proprietary software Recommended Software:
Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or higher
Microsoft Office or MS Word/MS PowerPoint/MS Excel Notes: KMMI will not install or configure any software without the original licensed copies of the software. It is the students’ responsibility to provide the software as required. Anti- Virus Software must be installed and a scan is to be performed 24 hrs prior to class arrival.
Please refer to the document ―Tools and Equipment Requirements which lists tool and supply
requirements for each of KKMI equipment models. These are needed to service and maintain the
equipment.
