“Burshtyn TPP Island”
• Territory – 27 000 km 2
• Population – 3 millions• Export potential – up to 550 MW• Internal consumption – 1000-1050 MW• Power plants – Burshtyn TPP (2300
MW), Kalush TPP (200 MW) and Tereblia-Rikskaya HPP (27 MW)
Establishment of the «Burshtyn TPP Island»
Chronology of Events
• November 1-3, 1995 – initial meeting of UCTE experts with Ukrainian specialists in Lviv.
• January 1996 – first meeting of the Technical Committee UCTE/CENTREL/Ukraine.
• 1995–1997 - elaboration and approval of the Catalogue of Measures on integration of the «Burshtyn TPP Island» to UCTE/CENTREL.
• 1999 – Agreement on long-term physical delimitation of Burshtyn TPP Island from IPS of Ukraine was signed.
• April 6-20, 2002 – tests and 2 weeks trial operation of the «Burshtyn TPP Island» before connection to UCTE power system.
• July 1, 2002 – «Burshtyn TPP Island» was switched on one year trial parallel operation with UCTE.
• July 1, 2003 – Constant operation of «Burshtyn TPP Island» with UCTE.• October10, 2004 – Resynchronization of II synchronous zone of UCTE.
Switching on OHL 400 kV Mukachevo-Roshior (Romania)
1. Increasing of capacity of existing units of Burshtyn TPP
2. Modernization of switching equipment and relay systems
3. Increasing of power export up to 600 – 650 MW
4. Development of fiber-optical communication lines
“Burshtyn TPP Island”. Plans for Development
On the Way to Meet UCTE Requirements. Studies
