DECIDE Rubric Exposed Standard 2.8:
Three or more types of content that align with the course and incremental learning
outcomes are used throughout the course.
What is content? Content is material that students use to learn more about the course through Blackboard. Content is not directions such as read pages 1-32. Examples of content types include, but are not limited to: lecture notes, Power Point presentations, Slideshares, YouTube/demonstration video clips, live lecture videos, voice over recordings, and more. Using multiple content types will help the instructor address multiple learning modalities (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.), however, content types should not be used for the sake of using content types. They should be chosen carefully in order to address the needs of the students in your particular course.

6 Ways Social Media Will Change in 2014
The following is an excerpt from an article
on the Edudemic website from Jan. 2, 2014
by Katie Lepi.
#1 Social Media is not an option Businesses must integrate social media into their
marketing plan. It will be expected and will hinder
sales if they do not. [This also applies to higher
education institutions].
#2 Mobile Growth Websites will need to work on both desktop and
mobile devices. Forbes predicts that by 2017 Mobile
Sales will grow by 87%.
#4 Images, images, images
You need to pay attention to Google+--so far, it has
been Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, but you
can’t ignore Google!
#6 Podcasts will continue to grow Podcasts will continue to grow in 2014 because they
are easy to listen to and it is easy to multi-task while
listening to content from these podcasts.
#3 Google+ needs your attention
Images will be the top content and furthest reaching in social media.
#5 Video Vine, Instagram, Google+ hangouts, and YouTube will be popular media for getting messages across.

Students Becoming Entrepreneurs from Campbell University Online blog
In fact, there are smartphone and tablet applications that are leading the charge for these young entrepreneurs. Check out these mobile applications that make paying a small business owner with a credit/debit card much more convenient:
Square: pocket-sized credit card swipe
attaching to iPhone/iPad.
Intuit: card reader and app that will allow
you to swipe, key, or take a picture of the
credit/debit card and allows customer to sign
on the screen.
PayAnywhere: card reader with aware-
winning app helps business owner stay better
organized with built-in reports.
Flagship ROAMpay: most competitively priced
card reader that features low transaction fees.
Modern technology has a way of making certain parts of our lives easier and more convenient. For several years now, many small business owners have been trying to take advantage of these modern technologies to help them be more efficient in running their businesses. Lately, college students have begun using these technologies and getting a head start on becoming entrepreneurs. I personally know of a college student who sold hand-made scarves to help her fund her mission trip to a foreign country. There are numerous accounts of students making crafts, like wreaths and other window decorations to help them fund their college tuition. Stories like this are constantly circling the skies of our colleges and universities as technology has made it so much more convenient to take a payment or donation from customers and donors.
