Significance of Moharram
“It is my thought that by fasting on the 10th of Muharram Allah Ta'aalaa will pardon the sins of the past year.” (Tirmizi)
Because we are the future...
By Faisal Riaz
The word "Muharram" means
"Forbidden." Even before Islam, this
month was always known as a sacred
month in which all unlawful acts were
forbidden, prominently the shedding of
blood. This month is very significant
according to Religious point of view,
especially 10th of Muharram as Our
Prophet Muhammad PBUH said that:

It is my thought that by fasting on the 10th
of Muharram Allah Ta'aalaa will pardon the
sins of the past year.” (Tirmizi)
Battle of Karbala widely regarded as an
event which saved Islam. Hussain bin
Ali (R.A) is credited with saving Islam
from oblivion by offering timely sacri-
fice to draw the line of demarcation
between real Islam and the version pro-
moted by the People of Kufa.
The Battle of Karbala took place on
Muharram 10, in the year 61 of the Is-
lamic calendar (October 10, 680)in
Karbala, in present day Iraq.
On one side of the highly
uneven battle were a small
group of supporters and
relatives of Muhammad
(peace be upon him)’s
grandson Husain ibn Ali
(R.A), and on the other side
was a large military detach-
ment from the forces of
Kufa, Iraq.
Husain(R.A) and all his supporters were killed, including
Husain's six months old infant son , and the women and
children were taken as prisoners. The dead are regarded
as martyrs by Muslims, and the battle has a central place
in Islamic history and tradition with particular emphasis
in the faith.
Hazrat imam Hussain’s (R.A) bravery, forfeit, courage,
patience, sacrifice, enthusiasm, valor, gallantry, zeal and
zest are very much meaningful for the whole Muslim
Ummah. He (R.A) exemplified to combat the kufr like
his Grandfather Holy Prophet (PBUH).

This phone is supposed to have a 2.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 CPU and 1GB of RAM. Other interesting items on the spec sheet
are a 4.5-inch 1280 x 720 display and Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed along with Sense UI. The handset supposedly measures 109.8 x 60.9 x 9.8mm and weighs 146g. Inside you'll find 32GB of storage space, 8 megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and 1080p video recording, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, Beats Audio and an 1,830mAh battery. On the outside the device has an inter-esting pincushion design that is narrow in the middle and widens towards the top and bottom. We can see the earpiece grille right at the top edge along with the camera sensor.
What is curious though is the presence of the keys below the display. Since this phone will come with Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed, ideally it should not have any keys. Unless, HTC has decided to go their own way and stick with the keys for now. On the back we can see the two plastic portions with a metal band running around the middle. The middle portion is sig-nificantly raised and then tapers towards the sides. On the top is the loudspeaker, camera lens and flash and near the bottom is the beats logo and a bump for the headphone jack

For Fall-Winter 2011/2012, Bottega Veneta considers how the way an object is made affects its look, feel, and function. Re-making traditional men’s wear items like the jack-et, the smoking, and the sweater in uncommon ways, for example by mixing materials and
methods of construction, allows for an explora-tion of their range and relevance. The result is a collection that is taut and urban, with an aus-tere, streamlined sensibility. Almost pandemic the last few winters, the pea coat is yet another piece of military fashion that’s found its place in everyday life. Originally issued to Dutch sailors to keep them warm, the pea coat caught on with other navies and eventually found a place in second-hand shops and closets among the general population. This is a great inoffensive choice that never really goes out of fashion. A lighter choice for warmer winters, the pea coat is a simple, casual piece that has attained truly classic status.
For the best fur look, you can combine fur with shimmery formal outfits for a majestically royal look. Fur can also make you look casual yet classy; combining a small fur scarf or cap with a long trench can give you a dazzlingly causal yet cool look in winter. You can buy a jacket with fur on its hood or sleeves, or you can add a subtle furry touch with fur scarf or
fur cap, the key is don’t overload yourself with fur’ and you
In what could be the first sign of a potential buyout, Microsoft has signed a confidentiality agreement with Yahoo to get access to the company’s financial infor-mation. Citing a “source familiar with the matter,” the report says Microsoft is one of many companies now combing through Yahoo’s business. Private equity firms KKR, TPG Capital, and Silver Lake Partners are also said to be inter-ested in buying minority stakes of up to 20 percent, with plans to eventually own controlling interest in the com-pany. KKR and Silver Lake recently invested a substantial amount of money into domain registrar GoDaddy, a deal reported worth $2.25 billion. The interest from Microsoft is especially notable since the software giant once before tried to buy the company back in 2008. The offered price was reported to be al-most $45 billion, or $33 a share. Today Yahoo trades for about $15 a share. Commenting on the failure to work out a deal three years ago, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said: “Sometimes you’re lucky.” Now it seems Microsoft is once again looking a buying Yahoo, or at least a sizable chunk of it. Why the renewed interest? it appears the company is interested in preserv-ing its partnership with Yahoo on search.
The two worked out an agreement in 2009 where Yahoo would use Microsoft’s Bing search technology, and Mi-crosoft would serve up ads in Yahoo searches. Yahoo is still the second most popular search engine, according to comScore, so Microsoft has good reason to keep that partnership alive. Yahoo has been struggling for years. Although its search and email services were once dominant, the company has failed to respond credibly as Google and other com-petitors gained market share. The company fired its CEO, Carol Bartz, in September. Former CFO Tim Morse is the current interim CEO.

While traditional mixing desks can bury DJs behind bulky equipment in a dimly lit corner of the club, this transparent, 46-inch multi-touch system from software development company Smithson Martin puts the person spinning the discs - or in this case the touch display - front and center. Billed as the "world's first and only multi-touch midi controller PC software for profession-al DJ and music," Emulator is a MIDI controller that shows all the information on one single screen and gives the user a colorfully lit display of all tracks and controls. The Emulator features 130 controls covering all the usual functions of DJ'ing (of course there's no need to lug around your old vinyl) and the screen is made from durable tough-ened glass - useful if a disgruntled raver hurls a beer can in your direction. Being see-through, the set-up also adds an extra dose of audience interaction to the whole process as the crowd can watch you mix, add effects and loop tracks ... and hopefully applaud you in the process. The MIDI controller PC software is designed for Windows 7 (a Mac OSX version is currently being developed) and right now it only works with Traktor Pro. Smith-son Martin says that Emulator for Ableton, Serato and Virtual DJ are currently in develop-ment. The minimum system requirements are Windows 7 Home Premium or better (32/64 bit), Dual Core 1.3 Ghz CPU, 1 GB RAM and an ASIO sound card (though 4 GB RAM and Native Instruments Audio2DJ sound card or better are recommended).

The news comes straight from Pocket-Lint – a popular weblog covering con-sumer electronics – in the form of a post in which they announce winners of their annual Gadget Awards. Their
award for Best phone for the 8th Annu-al Gadgets Awards goes to the Samsung Galaxy S II, beating out other phones like the Apple iPhone 4S, HTC Sensa-tion, Nokia Lamia 800 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray. The award-selection process involved shortlisting five devices for the catego-ry and then choosing the best out of them based on the opinion of panel of “elite judges” including members of
British newspapers, leading websites and television channels. Besides this, they took input from around 100 jour-nalists and, of course, readers of their website.
Pocket-Lint, sadly, did not mention any specific reasons for choosing the Galaxy S II over other nominees. Sure, the GS II has an amazing, large display, a powerful camera and great design, but the iPhone 4S has a smaller, but sharper display, an even-more power-ful camera and, according to some, a better looking design (which may not be as durable, though).

the path of establishing a strong platform for the youth of Pakistan where they
can make a difference by contributing in his noble endeavors.
He believes that his actions can inspire the youth to wake up, look around and

chance to get ahead with M.M. Zia and delve into his mind to catch the true
inspiration from where we all can benefit.
He said his dream is to do anything for his country Pakistan. He never sees him-
self as the president or head of MWT. He always work as a member or a volun-
teer and do his best to help the under privileged people of his country Pakistan.
He does not compare MWT with NGO’s because they work voluntarily for the
trust. Most of they are students and have their own professional lives along with
the trust work.

Dart (originally called Dash) is a Web programming language developed by Google. It was unveiled at the
GOTO conference in Aarhus, 2011 October 10-12. The goal of Dart is "ultimately to replace JavaScript as the
lingua franca of web development on the open web platform.
Dart is intended to solve JavaScript's problems (which, according to a leaked memo, cannot be solved by
evolving the language) while offering better performance, the ability "to be more easily tooled for large-scale
projects" and better security features. Google will offer a cross compiler that compiles Dart to ECMAScript 3
on the fly, for compatibility with non-Dart browsers. There will also be a facility to convert typedClosure code
to Dart. Google will also integrate a native VM into Chrome and encourage competitors to do the same with
their browsers. The Dart VM and Dart Cross Compiler could be available in late 2011.

Detective
of the month
Whenever this word strikes your ears, what is a 1st thought coming into your mind..? I know that would be about new styles of dresses, footwear, jewelry, etc. But friends! Fashion holds much more than this all. Fashion is an art through which notions of beauty and goodness of any culture is examined. Some times this term is employed negatively as a synonym of for fads, trends and materialism. That is a social phenomenon common to many fields of human activity and thinking traveling from class to class. Fashion refers to styles that are popular in a culture at any given time. Colloquially! It is used as a latest ver-sion. People bake in the concept that fashion is limited up to the matter of wearing but it can also include cui-sine, art and architecture, designing, music, dance, construction, etc. Even it is involved in technology as well as general comportment as a choice of computer programming techniques and standards of behaviors. For instance, the way to shy in old days was different to that of todays. So fashion is a diversified term involved in our lives. Every unusual and new habit becomes a fashion one day.
