Wikis: product or process?

• How do we use the wiki?

• Products- Users tend to use the wiki as a consumer, using it as a reference or a resource.

• Process- Users tend to contribute to the wiki, collaborating with other contributers to create an ever-changing product.

• Wikipedia (for most of us)

• Digital Native: creators as well as consumers

• Future literacy and collaborative skills

Wiki Feedback

My students felt:• Wikis were new and unfamiliar

• The learning curve was steep

• They liked the ability to share

• They found comments and feedback useful, although they were challenging to write
