Definition
• A teaser trailer is a shorter version of a trailer (typically under 2 minutes long) with the purpose grabbing the audience’s attention rather than revealing anything about the film: e.g. plot

Analysis
• The Teaser Trailer shows us very little and we only get a taster of the whole plot. The characters aren’t really revealed properly compared to the official full trailer. Now the full trailer doesn’t really go into depth about the plot but it announces the characters and actors and more scenes are shown clearly.
Representation
• In the teaser trailer, not much is represented other than a dystopia caused by man’s own hand.
Narrative
• Now the Teaser Trailer has a 3rd party narrator but the actual trailer is narrated by one of the characters as if its told from his perspective.
Genre
• Just from the teaser trailer, its clear this is a hybrid genre of Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Drama/Action/Adventure.
• It also takes place on an alternate time line (kind of 1930’s Steam Punk) so it could classed under Post-Modernism.
Audience• It is quite clear from the teaser trailer, this
is a very dark film and is aimed for teenagers and older (that and at the end it said PG-13).
• There are a lot of themes in there, young children who enjoy the CGI genre would not understand much less like.
