Task 1What are the steps involved in conducting a research in primary school.

Research can be defined as search for knowledge, systematic and scientific search for getting answer on any taken up specific topic, scientific enquiry into a subject and it is a voyage of discovery. According to Bulmer, research is primarily committed to establishing systematic, reliable and valid knowledge about the social world.Research ProcessDue to the nature of the research is the scientific process, and then steps must be performed by experienced procedures adopted at the international level.

Observation: Observation is done through daily life and later referenced in the literature review conducted by previous researchers. In this context, researchers need to find a gap between what is known and unknown as described in the philosophy of education.

Identify issues and areas: The process is very critical and is the most difficult step in the investigation. In this case researchers need to read a lot of articles from journals or always discuss with the lecturer in the study.

Theoretical framework: List of variables-variables involved with respect to some known theory in depth. For example, motivation and academic achievement. Theoretical framework can help researchers focus on real research problems.

Hypothesis or research question: Hypothesis should be very specific and very well limited to the place of research in hand because it has to be tested. Hypothesis guides the researched by limiting the area of Research and keep on the right track.

Develop conceptual and operational definitions: In the above example, the concept used is motivation. Motivation is a broad concept, researchers need to determine what kind of motivation to be used and do surgery on definitions such as academic achievement.

The design of the study: To test the hypothesis stated or answer the research questions, specify the appropriate study design.

Data Collection: Data collection is the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion that enables one to answer stated research questions, test hypotheses, and evaluate outcomes. Each research requires data collected from the sample. Clearly define data collection procedures to be performed.

Analysis of Data: The data collected should be analyzed for discussion. Analysis of data is a process of inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modelling data with the goal of highlighting useful information, suggesting conclusions, and supporting decision making.

Discussion: The data analyzed is then discussed by comparing the studies conducted by previous researchers.

Conclusion: Researchers need to formulate such findings reinforce the existing theory, generate new theories or reject the existing theory. Finally, researchers have to realize the practical implications of the research produced.
