Step Action on Screen Narration1 Title Welcome to this tutorial for using

Gliffy. This is a great organization tool to help creating graphic organizers venn diagrams and flowcharts.

This is the first page you will see when you get on the website Gliffy.com . You begin drawing right away. Let’s scroll down to see what all you can create on Gliffy.

Today I am going to create a flowchart on quadrilaterals. I am already signed in, so let’s begin

On the left you can see the different shapes and flowcharts items we can use. There are many other objects.

There aren’t any parallelograms in basic shapes but there is one under flowchart. I will click and drag onto the drawing board. When I let go, it will prompt me to type in a text. However, I will leave it blank and let the students write it in. Hopefully, they will learn how to spell it.

I am going to enlarge my parallelogram. Click on it to highlight and drag it out a little.

Now I will bring in a rectangle. I will make that one a little larger. I don’t have have a rhombus, but I can take this object from the flowchart. I am going to line it up with the rectangle. The top of the rectangle to the top of the rhombus using my grid marks. I am going to elongate to look like a rhombus

I need a square. I want to make it a little bit smaller. Go to the top to take the grid marks off. It is nice and clean. I like to keep it on.

Now, I want to connect. Parallelograms have many properties. The rectangle, rhombus and square have those same properties. I can use the connector tool to connect the parallelogram to the rectangle. If I got to the properties of the connector tool, I can put and arrow on the end. Connect the rectangle to the square.I can use my straight line tool as well. I will connect the parallelogram to the rhombus and the rhombus to the square.

I want to put a title on here. If I go to text tool. Quadrialterals is a long word so I will make a long rectangle. If I click on A, I can change the font, change the size and change the color.

There are a couple more quadrilaterals to add, but I wanted to

show you how easy it is to create a flowchart.

The diagram themes button will let you choose a color theme.

There are many things you can create with Gliffy for your classroom. History can make a timeline. Science can use flowcharts and graphic organizers. If you are reading a book in literature, you have the main topic and subtopics. It can be used across the curriculum.

You can print you item under file. You can import other items and objects. A great tool for organizing. Gliffy. Thank you for watching.
