Theme or focus of images

All of this photographer’s landscapes are set in the countryside instead of a landscape of a city which suggests this is the setting he prefers. The majority of the photos at least a third of the picture is sky which gives a nice contrast to the landscape used, all of the shots are nature shots containing trees, fields, plants or even mountains so we know this photographer enjoys the beauty of the nature and try’s to capture it in his photos. Photo 1 was taken of Mount Fuji in Japan, Photo 2 and 3 was in France, Photo 4 was in Belgium, Photo 5, 6 and 7 was in England. This shows this particular photographer doesn’t mind travelling to achieve his shots. These photos if you want to buy them from the photographer range from £500-£750 so it’s obvious other people enjoy his work and are willing to spend their hard earned money on his art.CompositionAll of the shots are wide angle and we can see the photographer likes getting the most in the frame that he can but capturing the best areas. Usually in this photographers work the most important are of the photo is framed in the centre. The photographer already gets a pretty wide angle on his photos but he could go even further back but I don’t think that would improve it, because I think he’s just the right distance from his centrepiece and main attraction for his photo.Techniques usedMost of the photos because they are bright would have needed a reasonably fast shutter speed to make sure the shot doesn’t get too bright but on the other hand some of the shots are overcast so he would have needed to make it average so it wasn’t too dark or too bright. There is a black and white filter on the first photo of Mount Fuji and maybe some colour touch up on the tree in photo 7 to draw your eye too it, done in post-production. Apart from that the photographer seems to take pretty untouched photographs.

Strengths & WeaknessesI think the strengths of his work is the framing of his shots and how the centre is always where the most important part of the photo is. I also like how simple the

photos are.

I think a couple of the weaknesses are some of the photos skies could have been touched up and made to look more bright because a few are gloomy even though it’s supposed to be a bright photo.
