Tankki’s plants are located in the town of Ähtäri, about 300 km from Helsinki and about 150 km from Tampere, Jyväskylä and Vaa-sa, close to good road and railway connections.

Tankki makes stainless steel tanks and vessels for use in diff erent types of industrial installations, such as dairies, breweries and pharmaceutical, biochemical, chemical and other processing plants.

Process tanks are designed and manufactured according to the clients’ specifi cations, which may include special agitators, heat transfer jackets and insulation. Tankki has developed a complete range of agitators for diff erent purposes.

Tankki has also developed a range of specialized products, one of the most important are large cylindri-cal ice bank silos for dairies and air conditioning applications.

The company was founded in 1967. It has 70 employees and a turnover of 9.0 MEUR. Annual production ranges from 200 to 600 process tanks (depending on size) in stainless steel and acid proof materials for diff erent in-dustrial applications. Tankki uses 1,000 tons of stainless steel and alloys and 50,000 metres of stain-less steel tubing per year.

MANUFACTURER AND DESIGNEROF STAINLESS STEEL TANKS

STAINLESS STEELMILK TANKS AND SILOS FOR THE DAIRYINDUSTRYTankki manufactures stainless steel products such as souring, maturing and mixing tanks, milk silos and washing plants. We have specialized right from the start in the production of process tanks for the dairy industry.

Tankki also manufactures special mechanical equipment for the dairy, meat processing and bakery industries where the demands on cleanability and hygiene are very high.

STAINLESS STEELICE BANK SILOSTankki has developed a range of specialized products, one of the most important are large cylindrical ice bank silos for dair-ies, ice cream factories and air conditioning applications.

The cylindrical and vertical ice bank silos are designed to pro-duce ice water of a strict hygienic standard, which is especially necessary in the dairy and brewery industries. Due to its com-pactness and aesthetical appearance, the silos are also an at-tractive solution for air conditioning applications in highrise and offi ce buildings.

The largest silo can store up to 70 tonnes of ice, and the pur-pose of the concept is to equalize demand by charging the ice bank at night using cheap electricity. System is controlled by the most advanced ice thickness and control system.

STAINLESS STEELBREWERY TANKSTankki has supplied process tanks and equipment to Nordic brew-eries since 1967. All large Finnish breweries and a number of Swed-ish, Norwegian, Baltic and Russian breweries are regular customers.

The largest fermenting combi tanks Tankki can produce are 600 m3 in volume. Apart from process tanks for large breweries, Tankki can also supply all the equipment needed for mini-breweries and restaurant breweries, including mash and wort kettle, lauter tun, whirlpool and combi tanks to its own design.

STAINLESS STEEL TANKS FORFOOD ANDCONFECTIONERYINDUSTRIESTankki’s know-how in designing and manufacturing special tanks and equipment for the food indus-try has been utilized to develop systems for mixing and heat treat-ment in the beverage, confection-ery and bakery industries.

For example, Tankki has deliv-ered butter melters to Kraft Freia Marabou and Tetra Pak, and large tanks with specially-designed agi-tators to the most important choc-olate producers in Scandinavia.

Tankki has delivered a num-ber of fermentation tanks to the biochemical industry for the production of enzymes and other biochemical products. The demands on internal polishing and asep-tic design in this industry are very high and Tankki has the

necessary know-how and experience to match these demands.

Tankki can also supply com-plete automation programs for fermentation processes in cooperation with special-ized companies in this fi eld.

Sterile process tanks with heating, cooling and mixing equipment and accessories. Surface Ra value of 0,1 μm can be achieved by me-chanical grinding.

Tankki Oy makes tanks and equip-ment requiring high-quality fi n-ishing and precision grinding. Sheets of up to approx. 15 mm thickness can be processed.

Tankki has delivered nearly 200 tanks to the pharmaceutical in-

dustry during the last ten years, mainly to Nordic Countries.

Tanks for the pharmaceutical in-dustry are designed in accordance with strict aseptic requirements and in conformity with FDA stan-dards. Inside surfaces are fi nished according to clients’ specifi cations, either by mechanical grinding or electrolytical polishing.

STAINLESS STEEL TANKS FOR ELECTRONICSINDUSTRYTankki has experience of manu-facturing special equipment for the electronics industry, such as high vacuum chambers, sputters and scattering chambers. Tank-ki also supplies custom-made equipment to research institutes and universities.

STAINLESS STEEL TANKS FORPULP & PAPERINDUSTRYTanks made of special materials, acid proof and titanium steel al-loys, for use in high temperatures and pressures with heating and cooling jackets.

In it’s modern workshop in Ähtäri Tankki can manufacture process tanks with diameters of up to 7 meters in diff erent stainless steel materials or titanium, in confor-mity with most international con-struction codes. Depending on the pressure required, diff erent types of jackets for heat transfer-ence can be supplied. Tankki can also deliver elevators and pneu-matic transport lines including dosing equipment for diff erent types of powder.
