TANKER CHARTERING, OPERATIONS AND LOSS CONTROL

The Importance of this CourseChartering, trading operations and loss control are key elements of oil deal management and when considered in isolation or together, can and often do have a significant impact on the bottom-line success of the trading deal. Having a clear understanding of these elements will have a positive impact on maximising profit, reducing loss, and mitigating risk.

The importance of this course is to gain a broad understanding of chartering, operations and loss control. The course is ideally pitched at people in the industry who are either new to what is collectively termed ‘oil trading operations’, or for those considering, or being considered for such a role. The course would also be very useful for members of other teams engaged in the front to back oil trade process in order to gain a better understanding of what goes on in an ever expanding and complex role.

This comprehensive, certified course – led by Tony Yates (Master Mariner Class 1) who was previously Head of Operations for BP Oil International Ltd until his retirement in March of 2014 – has been designed as training matrix run in 3 modules for chartering and operations staff who need to understand the fundamentals of the tanker market, operations and quantity and quality control. The three modules are Tanker Chartering, Tanker Operations and Oil Industry Loss Control each of which can be attended separately, all together, or in combination.

As one of the most experienced and knowledgeable operators in the oil industry (and one of Asdem's senior consultants) anyone who services the tanker market will find great benefit from Tony's vast experience and structured knowledge of the elements of chartering, tanker operations, as well as quantity and quality issues.
