VISIT – A/DG TO NEW INDUCTEES TRAINING AT MANSER CAMP

Acting DG ANF Brig Zahid Abdullah visited training site of new inductees of ANF at

Manser Camp. This training is being imparted to 402 ANF new recruits, having 12 platoons of

male recruits and 2 platoons of female recruits. This training is being supervised by a faculty of

15 ANF Instructors, 9 Army Drill Instructors, 9 Army Physical Training Instructors and 10 Army

Weapon Handling Instructors in addition to administrative staff.

The basic training being imparted will be of 6 months duration, covering aspects of law,

court procedures, physical fitness, proficiency in weapon use, discipline and character building.

HQ ANF

INAUGURATION OF MOSQUE

On 8 Jan 2016, Acting DG ANF Brig Zahid Abdullah inaugurated the newly constructed

mosque at ANF HQ, which has been named “Shuhda Mosque”. The event took place just

before Jumma Prayer on Friday. It was attended by all employees of HQ ANF. The event

included unveiling of inauguration Plaque, recitation of Holy Quran, and collective Dua. Later

Khatam-e-Quran was also organized after Jumma Prayer.

Previous mosque was short of space to accommodate full strength of HQ ANF persons.

Present Mosque encompasses 2345 sq ft of constructed area, which has the capacity to

accommodate 225 persons at one time. The mosque has been centrally sited, to have equal

approach from living accommodation and office area. The mosque has been furnished with

top class marble, prayer mats, sound system etc.

ANF FORCE COMMANDERS CONFERENCE AT HQ (ANF)

On 22 January 2016, ANF organized Force Commanders Conference at ANF

Headquarters. Acting Director General ANF Brigadier Zahid Abdullah chaired the

Conference. It was attended by Commanders of all Regional Directorates and

Senior Staff Officers.

At the onset of the conference A/DG ANF appreciated all the Field

Commanders and Staff Officers for making Year 2015 a magnificent Year of ANF

Achievements. He appreciated the efforts of ANF Sindh in construction of women

and children addiction ward at Karachi. He highlighted that new trend of cocaine

abuse is on the rise in Pakistani society.

A/DG appreciated ANF performance in Year 2015 in which ANF registered

1216 cases, arrested 1460 persons, recovered 50148.250 Kg Opium, 12266.084

Kg Heroin, 133645.110 Kg Hashish, 543 Kg Morphine, 2877.340 Kg Amphetamine,

35.732 Kg Cocaine, 38.903 Kg Methamphetamine, 81 Kg Psychotropic Tablets and

5348 Litre Precursor Chemical.

Appreciation was followed by a critical analysis of Year 2015 and futuristic

goals of year 2016 were set-forth. During the conference, aspects of Enforcement,

Intelligence, Assets Investigation, Prosecution, Financial cum Administrative

matters and infrastructure development were deliberated upon. Special attention

was paid on taking effective steps against drug use in educational institutions.
