“Somebody’s Watching”, Pastor Tony preached this message Feb

21, 2010. He preached my life. As a child, I can’t tell how or when I

heard about God. I was never a member of any church nor was God

talked about in our home. I have never seen my mother pray nor did I

have any spiritual guidance in my life.

At 18 months old I came down with pneumonia and I was knock-

ing at deaths door. Brother Sylvester prayed for me, and within a couple

of days I was in recovery. No, I don’t know who called him or where he

came from. I was to meet him again two more times. Once at 15, again

with pneumonia I had been in an oxygen tent for 11 days. Doctors had

little hope of me surviving. Then out of the blue Brother Sylvester came

and prayed for me again. Once again I recovered. Now the third and final

time I encountered Brother Sylvester, I was flying over the hood of his

car. I was 16, riding down the side of the highway with a friend, when my

tire hit his and caused me to go over the handlebars into traffic. Brother

Sylvester said it was as if someone picked me up and placed me on the

side of the road. Brother Sylvester prayed for me and I again was healed.

You would think by now I would turn to God-nope. I had experienced

being saved from harm’s way twice more after that, once in a burning

aircraft and once on a smoke filled highway.

When I was 23, I was in Guam, with walking pneumonia, I was

really sick. There was a knock on my door, upon opening it I discovered

(guess who), nope not Brother Sylvester. It was a bible thumper, and he

gave me some reading material about what it meant to be saved. I got

saved that day, but never knew what it meant to be SAVED until 30 years

later.

About August 2010, my wife, Cheryl and I felt lead to the Taber-

nacle Church. I can truly look back and know for sure that somebody was

watching over me. I thank Him, each and every day for His love, grace

and compassion. I am so glad He was determined to save me. I thank Pas-

tor Shane for his persistence, and Pastor Tony for that sermon he

preached that faithful day. Thank you, each and everyone for your love.

Thank God for opening not only my eyes, but also my heart. I surrender

ALL to God
