National Stroke Week

This week (8th September) is National Stroke Week – the ‘theme’ for this year is ‘Take the challenge’. The idea is for people to challenge themselves to challenge stroke by working on reducing the number of risk factors they have. It is a good time also being the beginning of spring to consider a change in activity. Hope you all can have a think about one small change you can make to assist your health and wellbeing. Unfortunately stroke is Australia’s second biggest killer and the leading cause of disability. 1 in 6 people will suffer a stroke in their lifetime.

Good luck and remember every small change is of benefit!

Call for interest: Working party to support Deakin's 'Racism. It Stops with Me' campaign

Equity and Diversity is calling for expressions of interest from staff and students to participate in a working party to develop initiatives and activities to support the campaign Racism. It Stops with Me. If you are interested to find out more, please contact Andreanne Boileau.
